Hello friends, In this video we upgrade faulty lead acid battery in to lithium Ion Battery. We used 3.7V rated 2500 mAh lithium cell to make this battery. We used 9 cell in parallel so we will get total 15 Amp. If you want to upgrade your faulty battery, just follow all the step and make your own.

You made a lot of work my dear and thank you for the video, but have in mind these: The lead-acid battery is cheap and can gives high current. By connecting small batteries in series if one goes open,then stops the current. If you connect batteries in parallel, if one shorts inside, it will discharge all the others. I would not do such thing. Very friendly from a Physisist.

People are building batteries from 18650 cells all the time, if cells are good, new or tested there shouldn't be any problem. They last a lot longer than lead acid battery. Ebike, car batteries they're all builded making series and parallel connection

High current but lower running time. Newer BMS have higher current output that matches lead-acid batteries.

All the current of series and parallel cells comes together in one point and flows thru a single tiny nickel strip. You definitely need thicker strips for series connections.

It's cheaper and safer to just buy a new one. Beleave me. I am using agm as well as lifepo4 and lifepo4 are way more difficult to charge and mantain ballancing. Liion are even more difficult. You have no good (3s7p) bms (that bms is useless) for your diy battery so if one your cells discharges more than the other, when charging you will get some cells to be overcharged.

I would be very cautious with this, because it does not comply with any regulation and in case of fire , Insurance company cold get difficult., why do this?, allso the charging electronics in the original device mgith not be compatible with this "new" self build battery , i myself would purchase the original batttery despite the nice work and this video, you are a very handy person.

This not 100% replacement for 12v lead acid SMF battery .six cell lead acid battery full charging battery voltage and three cell lipo combination are not equal characteristics .where as lipo battery is 12.3v at full charge and 9volt @ 25% charge .lead acid battery is approximately 14v at full charge and 12volt @25% charge .

I would afraid of some worse troubles - starting current 780 A - don't think these batteries will handle ( basic car battery has 74 Ah - not 15 or less )

Esta es una batería de 3 líneas/serie. quería hacer una batería de 12v 15ah. Hay fórmulas simples. 1 línea tiene 3,7 voltios. Entonces, 3 líneas producirán unos 11,7, que están cerca de los 12 voltios. Ahora el cálculo del amperaje. Usó 6 celdas, cada una de las cuales contenía 2500 mah. 2500 x 6 = 15000 mah es decir 15 ah. entonces, si desea hacer una serie de 30 amperios, necesitará 2500 mah x 12 celdas o 5000 mah x 6 celdas. El otro procedimiento es el mismo que en este vídeo.

Ok I enjoy videos like this….that being said you are using batteries rates at 3.7 volts. Yes when fully charged they have slightly more but not for long. So realistically it’s 11.1 volts on average. You were better off running a 4th row in series for 14.8 volts. I feel your setting whatever this is connected to up for failure.

i did same except just used cell spacers.... but my ups gets very hot for some reason when left on just charging......otherwise it works very well....can drive a few things for like 30 to 90 min.... i used old 28650 reclaimed cells....good job insulting each pack then the whole pack.

That spotwelder seems very weak, normally 2x2 spots is enough for normal nickel strips. It seems the nickel strips here are really thin because the spotwelder can't weld normal (thicker) strips. At least for series connections you need thicker nickel strips than these.

This BMS can't hold on long time current above 20A without cooling (1-3 min maximum)... And nickel tape is too thin, it can overheat... So this battery is dangerous at high currents. P. S. And You can't use it in UPS because voltage of charging is ~13.6V, but BMS turn off the battery on 12,6V and UPS - will say "mistake".

No, pero tampoco te sirve el del video pues usa celdas litio ion o poli que son de 3.7v y para algunos aparatos como SAIs/ups no sirven ya que daria 11.1v nominal y 12.6 pico siendo que la de plomo es de 12.8 nominal y 14.4v pico. La solucion es usar 4 celdas de lifepo4 de 3.2v que serian 12.8v nominal y 14.4v pico, ademas de tener entre 2000 y 3000 ciclos de cargas x4/x6 de litio ion /poli aunque se pierda un 30/40% de capacidad en el mismo volumen.

Да и его на старое место не воткнёшь, они как правило как резервный источник стоят, под постоянным напряжением, а там напряжение то 14,4, а литиевым это перебор...

@@Fedor___1 Плата контроллера заряда и разряда установлена, она не даст перезарядить батарею, хотя я согласен что это дорого и не заменяет полноценно батарею так как напряжение будет пониже обычного (12,6 только при 100% заряде).

@@Fedor___1 Я не знаю где именно применена эта батарея, возоможно в каком-то резервном источнике питания. Так вот плата BMS не даст перезарядить батарею, а если батарея подсядет она будет заряжать её до безопасного напряжения, но не более.

@@tesladude2822 ты не понял, батарея в резерве ещё и отрабатывает как большая ёмкость, а тут она будет всегда отключена! И напряжение в 14,4 В не допустимо при зарядке литий-ионных аккумуляторов.
