Here's how to make some slight improvements to any LS oil pump at no cost to you! I went ahead and showed you how to shim this stock oil pump to increase oil pressure to make it a high pressure pump. I also showed you how to port it out to increase oil capacity in the pump!!!

When I built my LM7 I shimmed to about .100 inches when warmed up I idle just over 40psi and just over 70psi at around 6500rpm, just dont go throwing 20w50 in it lol

I never saw the relief piston. Did you leave it in the bore? How did you clean the bore and piston to ensure it moved freely by just tilting the pump up and down?

Just used brake clean to clean out the residue and then just moved the pump and heard it move

Sorry if I didn’t explain that well enough but it’s all depends on the compression rate of the spring so you can change out springs but check into the forums on the rate

I did mine to about .100 of an inch just over 40psi at idle and just over 70psi at 6500 rpm warmed up using 10w30, I personally would not go over .110 of and inch when shimming.

need about 3 more washers in there to really maximize the porting you did. porting the pump you actually dropped pressure but gained volume. next time use atleast 4 of those 5ml washers you'll get decent pressure along with the volume.

Pumps don’t make pressure only flow. Shimming the bypass raises the bypass pressure.

@@SoLSamuraibloodblade shimming the spring raises the pressure. The spring allows oil pressure bleed off reducing the bleed off raises the oil pressure. Im not guessing here I'm telling you from experience.

What the torque on the bolts?

the 4 bolts that connect to the engine are 18ft/lb and the bolts that are on the pump cover are 106in/lb

Even someone that slow has a RU-vid ,Making misleading videos. If you don’t know the science behind modifying a oil pump you should try to make a video doing 9 out of 10 procedures wrong . And nice electric drill . I’ve honestly never in my life see someone use a rotary burr bit in a drill. Keep up the simply hacks. Lmfao . P.S. how long did this motor last ?!?!?!?!?! Lol . I bet it’s already blown due to oil pump failure. “NAH,bra! “ lol
