Why not attack the hand with the blade first instead of the hand without the blade. It is theoretically possible but practically you don't know how the opponent is going to move. I would first go for the hand with the knife so that the danger is eliminated and then slap the rest of the body and run for my own safety. I'm looking forward to your answer, greetings Yann

Great question.. most attacks with a knife are lead Witt the empty hand, you want to use closes weapon to target and then for sure when you can find the opening strike the weapon hand

Baton for life in my experience. Sometimes, you just need to show the handle and let the attacker know you're aware and ready to fight. I successfully de-escalate a situation when some guys started following me and my girlfriend too close, I showed the holstered baton and look at them like "I know your intention, I'm ready to fight, don't mess with us". They walked away while my girlfriend didn't notice the whole situation. I love to use it to put space between me and the attacker, I did fencing in my childhood (sabre) and it comes natural for me using a baton😂

I use my telescopic baton beforehand using pepper spray on the attacker, and to stop the attack I knock out of the hands of the attacker an object with which he moves on me, I have been practicing Aikido for 11 years, I am familiar with the techniques of Kravmaga Aikido is very similar to Kravmaga, Kravmaga is much more extensive, and more detailed deals with those or other cases of self-defense. I use Czech ESP Telescopic baton, I bought the biggest 26 inches, also I use only quality pepper spray from German manufacturer Pfeffer Ko Fog, I use 100 ml spray cans, I carry 4 pepper spray cans on a chest bag from the company 5. 11.11, I carry the canisters in specialized pouches for pepper canisters, I also have a very good taser with an anti-grip handle, I use the taser against aggressive stray dogs, I come from Ukraine, it is very difficult for ordinary civilians to acquire short-barreled weapons, so I use starter short-barreled weapons, I have 5 starter short-barreled pistols.

I have no idea what this style is based on, but it’s not based on reality…no interceptions no attempt to defend the snake…why destroy an arm that has no weapon in it, you can simply intercept the knee with ur foot…then strike weapon hand…maintain distance as you have the longer weapon move left to strike rear hand…don’t go for head as a police officer found out

Yep, I like how people say to have your weapon hand at the rear because it protects the weapon......if you can't protect your weapon than you need to train more or shouldn't carry one. If you look at old sword fighting styles such as HEMA, Siliat or Kali the only time the weapon hand is to the rear is when the opposing hand is holding a shield because it's better to have the shield forward but if no shield is present than they tend to have the weapon forward as it grants greater range and a greater reaction time. The only other reason to hold a stick or baton to the rear like this is from a legal point of view it is considered to be less of a threatening stance making it easier to argue in court that you were defending yourself......which is a stupid mentality used by people who don't know what they are talking abou.
@TheMegaAsh
@TheMegaAsh Год назад
@@ryanshoults123 Most people that "think" they can use sticks can't. Majority of them can't stand against those of us that train Kali/Arnis/Escrima or a variation of Silat. Given that Kali is widely considered to be them most lethal martial art around and is known for it's stick work I'll stick with what I learn in Kali, especially since I am also trained to use expandable batons threw a government approved training program for security guards in the state I live in in the country I live in. Weapon hand to the rear is stupid because as you said, most people that have any training will be moving so I'm gonna have my stick to the front giving me greater range and reaction times whilst moving so all I need to do is move to your outside side that doesn't have the knife and you're in a very bad position to recover from. If you keep you weapon to the front it is easier for you to recover from these movements as well.....weapon to the front has far more advantages than weapon to the rear. The only reason the idea exists is because of dual wielding techniques and because it is viewed as a less threatening pose and therefor considered to be better for self defence from a legal point of view which is why LEOs & security are taught that. Lets not forget that the techniques used with batons were decided on way back in the 19th century when cops were carrying truncheons which are heavier than modern batons so the techniques worked back then but they are almost useless with modern batons. Throw in the fact that a lot of returning soldiers from WW1 went into policing and were using truncheons in the trenches for hand to hand fighting and in the confined spaces of a trench you'd want to keep you weapon in the rear for retention but that's about the only genuine reason to fight with you weapon in the rear hand.
@TheMegaAsh
@TheMegaAsh Год назад
@@ryanshoults123 From my experience both with expandable batons and with martial arts training specializing in all manner of melee weapon platforms I can comfortably say that if you are not wishing to resort to lethal force than go and train in a martial art like Kali/Arnis/Escrima/ Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) because if you only have training with expandable batons or no stick specific training than you'll more than likely end up resorting to hitting the head which is considered to be a lethal shot with batons. Expandable baton techniques don't come in different levels/grades/belt systems so it's kind of "one and done" training that is useless so I'd advise training in Kali. I'm Aussie and only police and certified security can carry batons, the only issue is that security companies don't let us carry even if we are certified because the training is so worthless than many guards end up smacking people on the head (excessive force). With any weapon system you need to train to be proficient so that you can use it if you ever need to. Don't buy into the idea that you can carry any weapon system and not train but still be able to use it because if you don't train than you won't be effective with it. I'm simply pointing out that as someone who is has a background in Kali and is state government certified to carry batons that the techniques used with batons is why they are useless for most people. Whilst in some situations I see value in keeping your weapon to the rear, in most cases it is better to keep it to the front as you have greater range and a greater reactionary gap. Not to mention that when you keep an impact weapon to the rear, majority of the power comes from the rotation of your hips which very few people have the time to train for that to become muscle memory and as such aren't able to pull it off in the middle of a fight leaving them with the little force generated from the swing of their arm and in my experience you can actually generate a little more power with only you arms if you keep your weapon forward. Add in the fact that you are more likely to entangle yourself if you keep your weapon to the rear vs in the front. In the front allows for grater mobility as well giving you the ability to easily strike from either side of your body and even on upward angles but to the rear makes it more difficult if you are not trained to move freely limiting most to only one angle of attack. I myself am with you, I'd rather carry a baton than a knife because I'd prefer to use non-lethal force and have the option to escalate to lethal force if needed but with a knife you only have lethal force.
@TheMegaAsh
