Great tutorial. Thank you for this. I've always wondered how to get them small cuts without it eating it up. I will be trying this.

Do you have to have the blade facing a certain direction (confused how it knows which way to cut using the angle of the blade)

I would have to look more into it. I just install the blade in the holder. I believe the sharp side should be facing the back of the machine not the sides. Now I need to check lol . I'll let you know how mine is sitting

Thank you for sharing! ok so I have some questions :) I just installed the cb09 blade in my cameo 4. I watched a lot of videos bc i have been building my t shirt biz slowly and am trying to be as efficient as possible. I am cutting some intricate designs on htv. Your video helped so much with setting it up so thank you! but I'm trying to understand why change out from the auto blade? Do you feel the autoblade does not cut as well? my concern is the weight of the cb09. will it damage the machine after awhile? Do you have issues with it? Im worried that with setting up the tiny spring and blade myself there is room for error. Thank you in advance for any tips and help you can and have already offered!

1. The autoblade is just the standard 30° blade I believe. I could be wrong. I'm 2 years into owning my Cameo 4, I don't feel comfortable using my autoblade when working in decal orders.(it's happened more than once user/software error I set the blade to 2 and it and will go to far). I believe the autoblade is great for beginners doing basics with less control and use presets. 2. The autoblade only has the 1 angle blade that is also the same at the ratchet. I tested each angle and the 60° is my favorite. I have full control to customize each cut setting per vinyl type. All vinyls cut differently, small learning curve. I always test cut each different vinyl brand I buy. Suck as Oracle vinyl needs different setting than Cricut vinyl. Lol if that makes any since. 3. Room for error. Again learning curve and practice before making orders with it. Word of advice get a special box just for your blades, and magnets. Lol so many small pieces and I dropped blades in my carpet, found thank goodness 😄. I very rarely take my blade out if my machine unless I need to change blade or depth. Practice cutting with the mat only until you get the hang of it. I now barely is mats anymore, my personal preference is rolls. 4. This is a 3rd party tool and Silhouette is not held liable if you use this tool and it harms your machine. I've been using this blade for 1year now and see no issues machine mechanics wise. I still have my autoblades for paper cuts, but I rarely cut paper. I mainly love what I already said, full control of the cut if that makes any sense either. I hope this helps.. good luck.. thanks for watching.. let me know how it goes 😘

@@Taniicka23 Thank you! yes it helps, I worry so much about screwing up i guess it takes time get comfortable. I'm about to do a good size shirt order with an intricate emblem which is why I started researching the blades in the first place. I'll check back when the order is done :)

I noticed when using the CB09 blade. I'm using cardstock and I've noticed it drags. Also it don't cut through the entire cut.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I am still learning how to use CB09 with cardstock. I find it best to use the 60 degree blade and with 5-7 depth. I have uploaded new videos on a blade, that I have found and started using recently. It seems to cut better than the standard CB09 housing and also doesn't require an adapter...Have a great day

@@Taniicka23 Just read this thread. Are you able to provide the name of the new blade you are using for cardstock?
