Can your camera record the video at the same time while it’s streaming? Cause that would be sweet!?

Hey man great video! I record using my DSLR with the Camlink 4k through OBS studio. However I am noticing dropped frames and out of sync audio. Any tips as to how to solve this? Edit: I am also utilizing the USB 3.0 as I have it plugged into a USB 3.0 adapter and than that is in turn plugged into my 2018 MacBook Pro.

Is your connection camera to HDMI, HDMI to camlink, camlink to USB 3.0 adapter, USB adapter to regular USB port on computer?

First issue could be your graphics card. I'd make sure your drivers are up to date but could also be a slower video card. If not, I'd try recording at 1080 instead of 4k and see if that helps the issue. I'd also try the device on another computer to confirm its your computer. I don't think the USB adapter would cause an issue as long as it's USB 3.0 to USBC. You might want to try another adapter to see if this helps... Not sure what else could be causing the issues... Hope one of those elements helps you get to the bottom of this!

When I plug my CamLink 4k into 2.0 I definitely get lag. USB 3.0+ and I have no problems.

Does any other video capture device can do the work? I have one that I use with OBS and is configured with OBS, today I make the connection between OBS and Skype with the ndi plugins for the same camera, but Skype can’t recognize a a webcam, only OBS. Any suggestions?

You can't use your camera for both obs and skype at the same time. I suggest starting skype first and making sure your camera is working. If you camera doesn't work with skype by itself you'll need to get a different capture device (this one works great: amzn.to/3drtBwf). If it does work with skype, then open obs and add your skype feed with your video camera as a source in obs. This is different from adding your camera in OBS. You'll then add a seperate NDI feed for your skype guest. Hope that helps!
