Very well done video. I’ve been a carpenter for 35 years and felt the video was very well done, very informative. It left me with almost nothing to add, and was well worth the time. Anyone with a jigsaw should watch this video.

Excellent, she anticipates what one would want to know and is very clear and articulate. Women, small carpentry is fun, and you don't always have someone else around to cut a board, also most lumber yards and hardware stores don't want to be cutting boards for you.

This video is the best in You Tube , your instructions is so comprehensive, and details information we need for beginners like my self. I have been upset because I did not want to use Angle Grinder so I had no idea what tool there is I thought the only tool is a hand saw but is manual is so hard on my hand and difficult to work with. I have metal ,plastic, and wood to cut and I am a female and small build so I don't have much strength to use dangerous tools like angle grinder , I think tools have been made for men . Some are heavy and bulky. I have been upset because I thought there is no a tool like the Jigsaw could do the jobs DYI . I am so grateful for your video and your wonderful demonstration , you certainly have covered everything there is to know for a beginner . Thank you so much, and I am so grateful for your video. I am now feel the Jig saw tool is exactly what I need I feel confident to use it because of your video , I have seen other video and they are below basic. Yours is the very best video . The other best thing about it , I am a female and finding a video that is being demonstrated by another female makes it just fabulous and make such a difference in gaining confidence to use it . Your are wonderful , and you appear you genuinely care for the viewers and being engage with us to ensure we understand how to use a Jig Saw and with confidence .

You are a gifted teacher and I'm very impressed. I've had that Ryobi jigsaw for years and never paid any attention to all the features. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & I'm looking forward to being a subscriber. ( I just bought the Ryobi 10 inch table saw and have been staring at it for the past few weeks. It's a wee bit intimidating. If you ever feel like putting together a tutorial on the table saw that would be great!)

I watched David Stanton earlier today demonstrating how to cut a curve. His workpiece was a large piece of 42mm hardwood. He turned pendulum (orbital) off. He made the point that the front hand is for holding the jigsaw down, not for steering it. He made a special point of explaining why he doesn't use dust collection. The rear hand steers the saw, and applies gentle pressure to move it. He showed the cut close up, it was straight and smooth. He's also made a workbench that you can place on the dining table. I won't scratch the table, and it won't move. It has a lot of dog holes, based on the Festool multifunction table (MFT).

I know how to use a band saw but due to covid I wanted to get some cordless hand held power tools that I could use at home. This was so informative. I didn't know that the jigsaw could cut metal as well. I'm super excited to get one and start working on projects as soon as possible. Thank you so much for all of the work that you do and the information you share with us via youtube and your blog!

Thank you so very much for the info. I was looking into buying a new circular saw, but now I will be purchasing the jigsaw.

You're welcome, Yvonne! Yes, get a jigsaw first! Get comfortable with it, and then add a circular saw to your DIY toolbox! :)

Thank you sooooo much!!! Here I've been putting off projects awhile waiting for a man with power tools to come along and help me ..(like waiting forever, lol)... and you made this all so easy for me! I wish I'd seen this years ago! You explained things so well and simply and I'm going out to get me a jigsaw! Thank you!

Great demonstration on how to use the jig saw. I just bought one I’m excited about using it. I will now look at your circular saw tutorial as I also bought one and have no ideas on how to safely use it.

It's 1 am and I'm sitting here watching so i can cut the legs of two chairs down 3in each. Never used a jigsaw in my life, but this makes it look easy. Thanks about the clamps idea I didn't realize I needed them.

My first power saw 50+ years ago was an inexpensive corded jigsaw because what I wanted to cut in plywood had both straight cuts and a curve. I would c-clamp a 2x4 stud on plywood to act as a fence guide for straight cut. It was a long time before I bothered to get a circular saw.

Ryobi tip - Always check online sales at Home Depot, I have seen better pricing numerous times online while standing at the Ryobi tool display! They will honor the online sales pricing at the store, or it is usually a 2 day free shipping thing if they do not have at the store. By the way I got this tip from a HD tool dept guy. I have saved a lot of money doing this, sometimes two tools for 60% of what they cost separately and it includes the charger and batteries! Thanks for the video, everyone needs a jigsaw, one thing I would add is this jigsaw allows for platen adjustment, the base will adjust up and down, not just on an angle, for blade wear or on thin wood wood cuts, which I think may have helped on the circle cut you did but wasn't really necessary but it does help with control..also remember the 3Ds when using this = Depth,Drill on Discard, meaning set the depth, and drill the access on the Discard piece if finished product is for display... can't tell you how many times I have seen beginners drill on the piece they wanted to display.
