How To Use a Paint Edger LIKE A PRO - IN ABOUT ONE MINUTE

I always use a shallow flat pan or my brush to load paint onto the edger. Been using this tool since the 1990s. Love it.

Don't forget to take out the hard line of paint the edger leaves, just use the edger to feather it out

I use these a lot but have made mistake getting paint on wheels too nice video I use to apply it with a brush on to edger not sure if that’s a good method I think dippong it in the pan you may get paint on the wheels

I used a paint edger but it dried with all those little lines in it like you saw in your video. Any suggestions?

Tip i was given was to not dip the pad but to use a paint brush to apply it to the pad .

I probably just used too much paint, but when I made a pass, I took a semi dry roller and just lightly went over the edge so the hard line disappeared. Also take off your switch plates when painting lol.

Never dip the pad! Use your brush to load the pad. It keeps the paint off the edges of your pad. You need a brush for the inside corners anyway. Also what everyone said about the switch plate.

Ok but what about when you are using an extension pole to get the high parts of the ceiling and edges? How do you cut at a 90degree angle from the pole if the end her doesn’t turn a full 90 degrees?

I've always failed with these. BUT it was getting paint on the wheels. Duh...I'm painting whole interior of home so I'll go back to these. Thanks!

Did you wet the edger before?

Omg I almost threw the edger away I was so mad after seeing other videos that swiped it up and down on the pan. Doing it this way I managed to do the whole ceiling without a single wheel getting paint on it

Load pad with a brush , easier to control the amount paint on the pad , dont apply to edge on first stroke leave a small gap to edge Then and come and go edge on next stroke like you do with a brush

I always get paint on the wheels

all im wondering is why you dont have a drop sheet on the floor bruv

Tip , just don’t put lot of paint in the paint tray , slightly or use the top part of the paint tray where it has little paint to dip the brush

When the paint soakes to the edge of the foam it’s game over.The top edge should also be plastic

Shouldn't you use a different contrasting color?

i use a cheap dish sponge ,costs like 20p

It takes what, 1 minute to remove the switch cover . Any job worth doing is worth doing well.

Can a extension pole attache to this?

I should have used this instead of tape didn’t get the results I wanted ,well atleast I know for next time .

Its handle must be uncomfortable though, harder than holding a brush

It's a shame, but I see that you're using the pads badly. Surely you do a good job, but with the pads you have the wrong technique. That said without taking anything away from your good work. Here's how to use the pads properly. Painting by making an inverted U. Let me explain. FOR A WALL ADJACENT TO A CEILING: 1. Before going against the border, apply the pad on the wall far from the border, then slide it towards the border. It will make an inverted L.. 2. Glide the pad evenly with even pressure, you can go either way. 3. To remove the pad, slide it down. This will complete the inverted U. Remove by sliding and not directly as you do, because it produces peaks!!! TO SOAK PAINT WITH PAINT: Just immerse the hairs and rub the pad on the edge of the tray, it removes the excess and evens out the paint on the pad. TO REMOVE EXCESS PAINT ON CASTERS: Before repeating steps 1 to 3, rub the small rollers on a wall to be painted. It's a good precaution, because sometimes they get dirty. Wipe this part of the wall. Repeat steps 1 to 3 carefully. I am able to paint a very far wall with pads that fit long sleeves! FOR CORNERS (junction of 2 walls and a ceiling): We have no choice but to use the brush, which is the only one going into the nooks and crannies. FOR ADJACENT WALLS PAINTED THE SAME COLOUR: Use a roller with one end "closed" completely hairy. Never again will I make borders with a brush, it's too long and risky.

There's no such thing as a "pro" using one of those gimmicky toys that do not work as well "as seen on TV" per usual

I bought and electric paint gun, paint pans, all types of brushes and last night this paint edger.
