Leicestershire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and The Community Heartbeat Trust (CHT) are working together to save lives in the community.
Public access Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) have been installed at Police stations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, making them accessible to local people, at any time of the day.
AEDs are used when someone has gone into cardiac arrest i.e. when the heart stops pumping blood around the body. The defibrillator gives the heart an electric shock to allow effective cardiac rhythm to be re-established.
