@@MelissaVanDijkOfficialhi could you explain why I should avoid skin around eyes? Is there something I could use to clean around my eyes?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 10 месяцев назад
Salicylic acid can be quite drying or irritating, especially around the eye area. Additionally, if it gets into the eyes, it can cause irritation, stinging, and burning. Do you wear makeup or sunscreen around your eyes? If so, you'll need to remove that first with micellar water, or an oil or balm cleanser. Afterward, you can use the salicylic acid cleanser, ensuring you avoid the eye area.@@KFC431

Hi Melissa, thank you for another fantastic video! I’m just wondering if you recommend leaving the SA on the skin for a few minutes before rinsing? I have just bought an SA cleanser and I’m not sure how long I should keep this in contact with my skin to maximise the benefits to help with acne control. Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much again!
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 10 месяцев назад
Generally, it goes like this: If the product's description does not mention it, then it is not meant to be left on the skin. You should use it like your regular cleanser by massaging it onto the skin for 15-30 seconds, then rinsing it off immediately with lukewarm to warm water, as you usually do.
@kellyg2770

Oh perfect, I’ll do that! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond Melissa. I really appreciate it.

Recently i'm using cosrx SA cleanser (night time before sleep & morning), iunik centella calming gel, and iunik sunscreen nothing else. But after using SA i got acne breakout. I have acne from before also. What should i do?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 5 месяцев назад
Well, have you started using all of these products around the same time? If so, it becomes incredibly difficult to determine. If not, then the solution is simple: just stop using the SA cleanser and go back to the cleanser you used before :)

hey gorgeous! you will probably see me ask so many questions under your shorts/videos. I apologize in advance! 😅❤ is it okay to use products like azelaic acid, topicals faded serum, effacular dual action acne treatment, Paula’s choice BHA exfoliant (**I won’t use these in the same routine of course!!**) after washing my face with this cleanser since it’s being washed off? I’ve been seeing this cleanser can cause irritation, so I’m nervous
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 10 месяцев назад
Hey! 😊 Since you already want to use PC BHA (which is a Salicylic Acid-based exfoliant), I recommend using a non-exfoliating acid cleanser instead, like CeraVe Foaming Cleanser or Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. This way, you can use these treatments without worrying, in different routines or on different days, with just that cleanser.
@kelceynicole
@kelceynicole 10 месяцев назад
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial okay, perfect! are the other products I mentioned okay to use with the cleanser? I tried looking it up but it’s hard for me to find or maybe I just don’t understand what I’m reading. lol
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial

I wouldn't use PC BHA and the Effaclar treatment with a salicylic acid-based cleanser. As for the other two, it shouldn't be an issue :)

I washed my hands with that and applied a hand cream and my hands are burning idk why and why do i get small red bumps in my face?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 6 месяцев назад
Well, it's not intended for hand washing since it can be very drying. I assume your hands might be quite dry, which could explain the stinging or burning sensation. Have you also used it on your face and experienced a reaction? If so, how often did you use it?

Okay, so you have two Salicylic Acid cleansers, and one is more potent than the other. Which one do you tolerate better? You can choose to use just one of them or alternate between the two. It's up to you and what works best for you :)

Hi. Do I use everyday? And does it mean while showering, there's no need to use soap on my face after washing my face with this?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 4 месяца назад
Yes, that's correct; this is your soap, so you do not need anything else. Whether you can use it every day depends on your personal skin tolerance. However, it will likely become too much at some point, depending on the SA (Salicylic Acid) face wash you have.
