That's a very nice tool! It shows what you need to know and the trouble spots. Showing the condition of the pipe can help to locate current and future problems. Eliminate problems quickly to prevent future big "OH NO's! " Thank you for this video.

I had a Maple tree right on top of my sewer so I removed the tree, problem solved. I also had roots packed in the PVC of my sump pump drain it was so tight the pump kept cycling. Nice demostration.

This is great info to understand as an owner of a 1917 house that still has the original sewer line, approx 135 ft to the city sewer main. I've had some issues recently and plan to hire a local guy to come probe the line with a camera and a locator to find the second clean out and the city sewer connection point (for when I do have to replace the line.) The first plumber probed multiple times with rotary devices and found no indication of roots, but there is a little pushing up, creating a belly, and some sludge between the belly and my house. He used a power water blaster to get through the sludge and clear a lot of it up, but I bought an accelerator to work on dissolving the remaining sludge for now. I am wondering if these will work down a chimney, too...

I found this video very informative. I wish I would have had one before having a leak detection company come to my house. In finding I have an old cistern under my home, the leak detection company didn't bother to find it's true depth only determining minimum depth of at least 12 feet. I now need to purchase a liquid level sensor to find the true depth myself. There are many inexpensive ones on Amazon most without reviews or instructions at all. Perhaps you could do an instructional video on the liquid level sensors someday.

My assumption was right. I worked in the sewer/non-hazardous waste industry. I’ve camera’d lines, jetted lines, pumped out tanks and cleaned large tanks at WWTP. My assumption was the camera assembly isn’t heavy enough for when you push the line back into the coil. Looks like my assumption was correct.

Not sure about Canada, but here in the states we have a readily available root killer that you can pour down your clean-out as a preventative measure. It usually contains Copper Sulfate and it kills roots on contact. Your sewer line seems to be in great shape otherwise, so I'm curious if that could save you some cash.

The two rubber caps that you said you weren't sure what they're for the larger one is for the stainless steel end of the cable to protect the electrical connection when unscrewing the camera head the smaller cap is for the prongs on the camera Head

Copper sulfate inside pipe, dig up drain and encase it in concrete for about four feet, treat exterior roots with copper sulfate also, it won’t kill the tree.

You can't . It all depends how the camera sits as it slides down the pipe.If it really bothers you turn your screen.

Can you please measure the thickness of the cable? I need a thicker cable to push through my sewer line for inspection. I'm tired of returning cameras with thin cables in 5mm diameter that will not do their job. Some vendors don't provide this critical info. It costs a lot to return. Thank you!
@HouseImprovements
@HouseImprovements 3 месяца назад
This is 5mm. I have never had an issue pushing it.
@InvisionPlumbing
@InvisionPlumbing 10 часов назад
I recently had to do a buncha research on cameras to make an educated decision. From what I learned, its not so much the thickness, but the classification they give the cable. Youll start at flexible, then mid stiff, then stiff. This unit here is a mid stiff unit with 165 feet of reel. Personally, I cant get it to go further than 120 feet (havent tried it with the rollers attachment, too scared of getting stuck).

Turn on the switch on the battery box and rotate the knob on the battery box, this controls the light brightness. Be sure the battery is charged also. If that does not do it but the screen has a picture then contact the supplier for advice and or exchange.

How hard would it be to drill a hole in the frame and attach a ring for the clip when not in use? Seems like you don't really have much in the way of critical thinking skills to problem shoot exceptionally simple issues. Makes me wonder how you make a living in the field of home improvements, if you can't even figure out how to secure a simple clip.
