Very good primer on using Thompson Chain. I have always been stumped by the complicity of this work. And I love your explanation of taking scripture out of context. That has always been one of my main tools for witnessing to others who try to use text that way. I lead by asking them to read these two verses and asking them if they should follow this advice, Matt. 1:5 and Luke 10:37. They usually respond with something like, "that's out of context".

You have made opening my Thompson chain, an endeavor of pure joy! I have wanted to dig into this version for so long and understand it, and glean the fruit of Thompson's study method. I have so many other translations and versions, but I am quickly learning the superlative value of this version. Thank You so much. I am looking forward to your other videos with great anticipation.

Nice review there Sir! I'm getting a Thompson Chain soon Lord willing, but at 16:13 you say that "Jesus is with the father but Jesus is not the Father." There is a problem then because Isaiah 9:6 declares that Jesus indeed is God the Father. Also Colossians 2:8-9 sums it up perfectly, *".. Beware lest ANY man spoil you through philosophy...and not after Christ.. For in HIM {JESUS} Dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily"* The Father is a Soul, God dwells in Jesus being the Body, and the Holy Ghost of course being the Spirit *"These three are ONE"* 1 John 5:7. Just wanted to add that, thank you for the review though :)
@@BibleFanatics Amen! modalism is a heresy. I didn't mean to sound like I was teaching that, very sorry.. The Godhead separates, yes! Just like us, when we die our bodies separate from the soul etc... Modalism teaches Jesus morphs into God and The Holy spirit etc,. There is distinction in the Godhead. But ok thanks again!
This is supposed to be a review of HOW TO USE the Thompson Chain Reference Bible (as a system, as a study bible), not a sermon. He started off really great, but when he got to analysis of the books, and he chose John, he got side-tracked. Otherwise, he did ok. but thanks for the review, preacher, and God bless you too.
