NIV Comfort Print Thompson Chain Reference Bible Review Pt 2: Size Comparisons

Thank you, Brother. The comfort prints are monumentally more attractive than the Kirkbrides. I'm sure the Kirkbrides have been super study tools for generations: no disrespect,but... they give me claustrophobia. I also see the great difference btw the red print. Great thorough review.🌹🌹🌹🌹

I’m considering going to regular size on my NASB Thompson. I wasn’t prepared for how large the premiere was going to be. It fits my Bible armor case but it just so heavy. I guess it’s alright for a desk Bible but I like a Bible I can carry around.

To Melinda, if you are planning on updating the font for the ESV TCR editions in future print runs, I guess Lexicon is out of the running given that Crossway seem to exclusively use it for their editions. Thinking through what elegant serif fonts would be good (I can't ever picture that the ESV text itself would be typeset in a san-serif typeface), I would suggest 2K Denmarks's own 2K/Bible font family (their serif option is very readable IMHO though I see that typeface family used a lot by Holman in their various CSB editions). Another beautiful serif option is News Plantin (though I'm not sure how well that will translate to maintaining a compact Bible thickness on the page nor whether or not that will blow a budget in licensing fees). Milo as well, though I'm aware that Crossway has used that typeface in their "Story of Redemption Bible".

Randy, still tossing up between the Handy Size (Bonded Leather) & the Buffalo Leather (Regular Size). Since you've had hands on experience with both which would you recommend? I don't own an NIV or Thompson Chain Reference Bible so this release is appealing to me. The appeal for the handy size is the smaller footprint and lower price

What is the font size of the notes? Is the font size of the notes bigger in the large print edition than in the regular edition?

Randy, if I understood your comments correctly, basically I could buy a handy size in the Zondervan and essentially have the same bible (as far as font size) as the regular size Kirkbride. Is that correct?

Are there any pictures of the indexed versions?

Do you know when the ESV, NASB77 and NKJV will be released in the comfort print for the TCR Bible?

The premier is what I will get due to the black letter edition only

You had all the time in the world to compare the sizes of the different fonts sizes on the same page correctly, but you didn’t❗️😱😱😱 If you do a visual comparison it would be common sense to make sure that the passage of scripture in each Bible corresponds correctly with the same chapter and verse in all the Bibles in the comparison‼️ I had to stop watching the review because of the stress it caused‼️ Your talent certainly isn’t in comparing Bibles.🥴

The fact they made the Thompson chain in NIV with premium leather makes me sick a little. It’s sold so many KJV complies but instead they waste all sorts of paper on the worst “Bible” ever made. Hate to even call it a Bible.
