Today we are discussing and demonstrating how to properly de-air plastisol using a vacuum chamber.
A Vacuum chamber is a great tool to remove unwanted air from your plastic. Home pouring soft plastic lures often can encounter bubbles in your plastisol. This is either caused by moisture in the plastic, or air was introduced from over stirring the plastic. No matter how many bubbles you have, the vacuum can save the day!
These are my tips on how to most effectively use a vacuum chamber as it relates to plastisol for fishing lures.

Sweet video brother. I just got mine yesterday and tried it out today for the 1st time. Had to watch your video just to get and understanding of the unit. It kept bubbling and I was like "How damn long will I have to keep doing this?" Didn't know that it was already good lol. Sweet color as well.

If you get this message I just bought some plastisol and I’m having some trouble with it doesn’t seem to cook properly it just gels I can’t get it to clear up before it burns My garage I take the heat down at night to about 47 Fahrenheit Is that the problem that I’m not keeping it at room temperature or plastisol go bad I sure hope you get this and are able to contact me with what I should be doing up till now I was doing a load of remelts never had this kind of problem And yes I did Gas hot and cold to get rid of bubbles didn’t seem to work Thanks Brad Andrews

This is just what I needed. I have had tons of bubble issues and thought a chamber might could help. Your info sealed the deal. What is the CFM of your pump? Model, brand? Much appreciated.

Glad the video helped..its a Pro Vac 3 gallon chamber, single stage vaccum. The easiest way to buy is one is from baitplastics

I left the pump on for 30 seconds. That made the resin instantly harden. Then I turned the burp valve and that made the resin explode.

I do HVAC for a living, I have the pump already (mine is probably overkill) and I think I can make one of these pretty cheap. That pump is probably the largest expense

If u degass the plastisol, but don’t use it all so the plastisol cools and hardens, will bubbles reappear the next time it’s used ?

How hot do you heat the plastic before you stick it in the vacuum chamber? It cools down while it's in there right?

I try and put it in at 340+ since it does cool down

If you are referring to filling the actual pot up with Plastisol and degassing a bunch that way then yes...I did that back when I first started using the chamber..now I really only do it after measuring out each run. Love that big nasty worm! Thanks for watching the video..it's an honor to get a comment from a company as established as you guys.

@@WorldsWorstFishing Ok cool, we been running some virgin in larger quantities with a higher CFM pump and its working good. congrats on success!! we pride ourselves on catering to the small guy customs all the way up to shipping pallets of baits. Keep rolling, love that color you did in the worm!!, would look amazing as a dual inject black half!!

thanks for props on the Big Nasty.. we run wide open on that bad boy.. it gobbles the plastic and the molds are heavy and cumbersome, but.. Bass love it.. lol, cheers dig the vids
