Just used 1 for 11 upper cabinets and 8 base cabinets and agree, over spray was an issue, but paint came out perfect with a wide spray, 3 volume, and wide open air. Love your videos
I bought one couple of months ago. Really just used it on a job I’ve been working on. Sprayed stain and polycyclic on what seemed to be a miles worth of trim lol. The detail attachment worked very well even with interior latex trim paint. The larger attachment threw out way too much material and could never get it dialed in right. But it was still a solid investment for the money.
TOTALLY agree... the larger gun is really designed for situations where overspray is not an issue. like on the side of a building or a privacy fence!! Thanks so much for the comment I really appreciate it!!
Hi Lou, I just found your channel. Love your video on this Wagner sprayer because I have a project that I am preparing for just as soon as it warms up here in Ohio. The project is painting our kitchen cabinets. I will be removing all the doors and drawers facings and spraying the primer and top coatings in the garage. I will be doing all the other priming & painting with brush & roller. So after watching your video, I have decided to get the Wagner Flexio 5000. It sure looks faster, easier, and with a more professional finish than doing everything with by brush and roller. One question my friend is what was the ratio of water to primer and water to paint that you found works best with this sprayer? Thank you for all you do. PS.....I just subscribed to your channel.
hey man ... so sorry for the massive delay in response to your question, I hope you found your answer without having to wait for me ... but in the off chance you're still in need of the info I added 10% water by volume. 40oz of paint and added 4oz of water... give or take, some paint is thicker depending on how old it is, but 10% is a good place to start. You want the paint to "stream" off the end of the stir stick. I hope that makes sense, and thanks again for your comment, support, and your patience!!
I’ve always wanted to use a Wagner turbine sprayer since I was a little kid. Turbine sprayers are better than airless sprayers in many ways. First you can get a pretty solid unit for less than 190 dollars. Second you can adjust the paint flow at your finger tips. Third some models have a variable speed turbine motor for added flexibility so you can go at your own pace and/or be more tailored to what type of paint or finish you’re using and the surface that the finish is going on.
Greetings from Australia I have been struggling with my spray set up for ages, thanks for the advice. I have subscribed and will be watching more of your content. Regards James One Handed Maker 1 🤚 🔨
AWESOME!!! Thanks for the comment and letting me know where you are!! I am ALWAYS thrilled when I get comments and feedback from folks on the other side of the planet!!
I appreciate you thinking of me... right now I'm just not in a position to continue building and filming... maybe someday, but it wont be anytime soon. If you miss my smiling face you can check out my Clubhouse Channel where I do reactions to TV shows, Movies, and Video Games. I'll put a link to it in the description of this video.
Thank my man... and no, not really. Once or twice I had to unwind myself from it so as not to trip, and you had to make sure to disconnect the hose from the gun so the weight of it did not drag it off the table I set it on... but other than that it was fine.
Have you used an oil paint in this sprayer yet? If so how did the cleaning up process go? Did you just spray mineral spirits through it after or did you soak the parts in it?
I’m surprised how little water you’d added for the fine finish attachment. I’ve been advised to thin ~ 10-15% with it and it looked as if you added 2-3oz!?
The finish that it left was smooth as you can imagine, I've used it now on several projects!! I am SUPER impressed with this machine and HIGHLY recommend it!!
cost of materials is to high for me to justify keeping new content coming, I simply cannot afford to put any more money into this hobby. Maybe if my situation changes I'll start putting out new stuff but it wont be any time soon.
