So nice to ask google one question, and then get exactly the information I needed to know (I would never have figured out the audio to USB part). Thanks to your clear explanation, I'll be able to use my Sennheiser wireless system with my iPhone 14 to create an Intro Video for a very worthy candidate for our Cambridge School Committee.
So I followed your directions and bought these two attachments and could not get the microphone to communicate with the phone. I even took it in to a computer place where they we experimented with some alternate wiring. Any ideas for troubleshooting?
@@simonbmaster inside camera is a Canon R and outside is my iPhone. The Canon R is the first generation and is quite old now, bit still a great camera. The iPhone is a 12 Max Pro
No - they can be separated. That’s part of why this is so handy. I have the receiver and cable on the iPhone - then the transmitter and mic on my body pack. I can move all around and the audio is nice and crisp. I’ve been up to a hundred meters away!
Wouldn’t it be easier with equal sound if you use a wireless mic system for iPhones such as the dji or boya? They also connect to a lav mic.. and have even smaller receivers
Thank you so much Frank. Fixed a real scratch the head problem! I tried to apply the same logic to attaching my receiver to my MacBook. Sadly it didn't work :-( I used a USB-C male plug with a female USB at the other end and then tried to attached my male USB plug with the microphone female socket. Any ideas? Keen to use the microphone on live conversations / presentations through my MacBook.
Hi Frank. This is a great video. I tried another wireless lav mic for my iPhone and the mic manufacturer said it would only record audio on its own app. So I couldn't go live on Facebook or RU-vid using the lav. It was very frustrating. Does this setup override the iPhone mic so I could use this for better audio when doing a Facebook or RU-vid live using my phone? I demonstrate martial arts and teach techniques and movements, so having good audio is crucial.
My quick answer is yes - I “Think” it does. However, I need to test it to be sure. Let me do that and get back to you. Are you thinking RU-vid LiveStream?
Would love to know what adaptations to this setup you would need with an iPhone 15 pro, which has the USB-C port (instead of lightning). Is it the same setup but with a USB-C to USB adapter? Or something different?
@@LearningandTechnology So I tried this - granted I have a Sennheiser G3 so perhaps that is the issue but when I have the mic set up connected my iPhone takes continuous pictures - like 2 per second! As soon as I disconnect the mic set up, it functions normally. It doesn't matter if it is in photo, video, or any other mode. I have no clue what could be causing it.
I tried this but the volume is very low, i think it's because of the 2 added cabels. (I also tried to increase the volume on the receiver, but that didnt work)
Hi does this work with the Sennheiser EW100? I'm reading reviews and a lot of people on Amazon are saying that the volume is weak, quiet or not working properly. Please advise!
I don’t have the EW100’s personally - so I’m unable to specifically test them, but this method should work. It’s a relatively straight-forward connection through the adapters to get the signal to the phone.
@@LearningandTechnology I ordered the cables and will give it a test run and report back how it goes! Thank you for your help! If you have any questions regarding chronic pain, that is my speciality of over 10+ years. I'm at your service. =)
@@DeyRadiance let me know how it goes! I’m very fortunate that I’ve never had chronic pain - but it’s fantastic that you are helping people! It’s a rough condition for people and it’s nice to know there is help.
I connected my iPhone 13 pro max to Sennheiser G4. But I can't adjust the optimal sound. Sound volume: on the microphone -12 dB and on the receiver -18 dB, the most optimal settings for clear sound. But the problem is some noise, it seems to be around and on the video you can hear this noise background. How to record without this noise?
then how it works when you lisning to youtube song and you sing in the mic are the an delay on wired earphone ? and what hapens till bt earphone are ther delay on what you say and what you hear the mic signal is delay ?!?
Hello! God sent me your video. Thank you a lot. Please, do you have a video about how to setup the Sennheiser EW 122P G4 cardioid Lavalier Miccrophone (A1: 470 to 516 MHz)? Or a classe about it? I need help.
I don’t have that exact microphone - it should work similar to the one in this video though. The biggest challenge with microphones that I’ve had is to make sure they Mach frequencies from transmit to receive. This is normally a matter of clicking the menu until they match.
I also tried the TTRS way - which I “think” works on Rode systems (they have a special cable). However the USB solution I have here really has served me well. It’s also relatively inexpensive
@@LearningandTechnology I think will be the solution. I even tried now as camera app which allows me to chose the mic, and the external doesn’t even shows as option…
