In this video I'll be showing you how to use an Olympus XA2. I will also show you how to load and unload film in the camera. If you have an Olympus XA or any other Olympus XA model, this video might be of use to you too, so feel free to follow along.
Since the film community is constantly growing, I wanted to start this channel to provide all of you with some information about cameras that I am using.

Hello! After loading the film, how many times do you fire the shutter button/advance the film before taking pictures of what you want? I'm alittle confused as to which number on the film counter I should start at. Many thanks!

Hey thanks for the video, I have one of these but no batteries yet. Should I be able to wind the transportation mechanism with no batteries or is it stuck

Hi Johnny, you should be able to wind it once, but then you have to activate the shutter to take a picture (this only works with batteries inserted). So there is a good chance it is not stuck:) Get some fresh batteries and I hope you're good to go!

@@valentinsfotoparadies8708 hi thanks so much for your reply! I originally believed the shutter button was broken too because of it not pressing like a normal camera but am I right in thinking it’s barely a button more like a “tapping” sort of action with very little movement?

@@johnnyquickshot7756 hey mate, yes you are very correct with your assumption. The activation of the shutter is not comparable to a "normal" camera, but it is much more quiet and easier to activate. My flatmate once borrowed my XA and took a photogarph without even noticing, until I told him that he just released the shutter:D this is something you will get used too quickly tho! And it's nice for scenes in which being quite is of importance. All the best, Valentin

I just received my first roll of film with this camera and it came back completely “empty and looks like it was never used “they said. I inserted the film correctly like the video and my camera shutter works fine yk nothing wrong with the camera itself also the film is not expired .My problem is i kept opening the back which lead to my film completely burning but my question is if it’s completely burnt wont the negatives at least come back sort of a black color? How do u explain it looking completely new ?

Hi sir. Can I ask if I should move the film transportation mechanism every time I will click the shutter button?

Hi Jerwen, yes, you have to manually transport the film whenever you want to take a new image. If you do not move it, you will not be able to use the shutter button. All the best, Valentin
