you are still using phantom power to power the microphone. the 4v the soundcard gives off is enough to power the bm800. it is impossible to use a condenser microphone without phantom power.

Once you plug in the BM 800 Microphone it should automatically be detected by Audacity, you just need to change the input device selected on the drop down menu

Using a condenser mcrophone without a phantom power will only give you results as if you are using a dynamic microphone. Yes it does work even only with a soundcard but it will not give you the maximum capability of the condenser microphone. Try replacing your USB soundcard with any audio interface if you want to use your microphone to its maximum capability ajd of course with better results.

Please help, I have a USB condenser Microphone that doesn't work on my laptop, it works on some other systems, it's plug and play and doesn't require any software. It has an 3.5mm audio head along with the USB, but once I plug in the USB the mic is not recognised. Can a USB sound card solve this problem while the USB is plugged in to power the mic

HI Carmine, when I was still using this setup, I use the audio track from audacity and then sync it up with the video on editing. But now I am using the BM800 directly on my Canon60D camera.

You can directly connect your microphone to your camera as long as it has 3.5mm port

Hi Rose, Audacity is a recording software only, pwede ka magpatugtog nung instrumental/cover music sa youtube or sa media player mo while recording sa audacity. and then you can probably combine both of them together after.

the mic will sound thin without phantom power (no bass). you can't fix that.

Not a good idea with a condenser. They "hear" everything! For live performance you would want a cardioid (or hyper-cardioid) Dynamic microphone..

Hey, help please. I'm so confused. I just bought the microphone and set it up, and at first I thought it wasn't working but then I realized it actually was but the audio was SO quiet. I don't why is it that? I googled it and from what I understood I need a sound card because apparently my laptop's jack is incompatible with the microphone's 3.5 mm jack. Is that the case? Hi you can use the bm800 with a sound card but It would be better if you use it with a phantom power so you dont need to increase the input gain too much

MeetiMian there no built in monitoring with the bm 800 so you may have to use an audio interface to be able to plug a headphone and monitor while you speak. You can also use a software like voice meeter to emulate output device but i think it has a little bit of latency

meron po ako nito gingamit ko sa laptap with the help of soundcard 7.1. Gumagana naman po siya sa recording using Total Recorder Software. Pro yung question ko po papaano po napapalabas yung voice directly sa mic? Parang literal na microphone po that will be used for recording/singing. Possible po ba yun? Hi Van, If you have separate clips for your video and audio, madali naman yun isync sa video editing software. basta I recommend na mag clap ka lang sa start ng recordings para magka spike at madali mo imatch pag mag eedit ka na
