The Acne Control Cleanser and the Acne Foaming Cleanser contain different active ingredients. The Acne Control Cleanser includes Salicylic Acid, while the Acne Foaming Cleanser uses Benzoyl Peroxide. Generally, Benzoyl Peroxide is more effective and works faster for acne treatment; however, it is significantly more irritating.

Hey! :) Are both from CeraVe? If yes, the percentage of Benzoyl Peroxide is the major difference. Out of the BP products I've tried, I liked Panoxyl BP Cleanser and Differin BP Cleanser the most. However, I also recommend investigating the root causes of your acne, such as lack of sleep, stress or mental health issues, environmental factors (like water and air quality), or your diet (like consuming too much sugar, processed food, fast food, or any food intolerance, like bread, milk, chicken, etc). Benzoyl Peroxide is just a treatment and won't target the actual cause of your acne, which is why it tends to recur. I didn't know this myself; however, I've been conducting an experiment for 5 months now, and so far, my face looks really good, while my chest, back, and shoulders are undergoing detoxification due to massive changes in my diet. The only thing you are immediately rinsing off is your cleanser (or a mask). All the other products are layered on top of each other. Just make sure not to use too much of each product and wait 1-2 minutes between each application so that the product can absorb into the skin before layering the next one on top. I recommend using your acne cleanser in the AM and a regular cleanser in the PM when using your retinol. Use your toner after cleansing and before applying anything else. I have had the best experience by not moisturizing afterward. Instead, I only used the cleanser every other day. When I moisturized regularly, I experienced more pimples, despite trying various types of moisturizers such as gel, lotion, and cream. So, reducing the frequency of moisturizing worked much better for me. However, you can try it out and see what works for you. :)

Well, if you don't properly remove it from the hair, it's potentially, but very unlikely, an issue. However, with clothes, it definitely is. I have experienced this issue several times. Be very careful to properly rinse it off, and also use old, undyed towels, or those that you don't mind getting bleached.

Personally, I've noticed that my skin tends to respond better to benzoyl peroxide than salicylic acid.

This is a cleanser, so you would use it before applying CeraVe Retinol Serum. It may work, however, some people find that combination too potent. In that case, I recommend using the Acne Cream Cleanser in the AM and the Regular Foaming Cleanser + Retinol Serum in the PM.

I think that’s just how it is. I have the product as well, and it has a weird texture. It doesn’t even say to rinse or not on the bottle. Very odd, but hopefully works.

Eh, no. That would be incredibly irritating! It's better to use just one of them or alternate between the two on different days. Even then, it might still be too much. If you're planning on daily use, make sure to also apply a moisturizer, something like CeraVe Ultra Light Moisturizing Gel after using these cleansers!

Additionally, consider purchasing a simpler formulation to alternate with. Something like the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum cleanser could be a good option when the dryness becomes too intense.
