OMG I have been searching for an active channel like this for ages. Great content and well spoken teaching. Right up my ally per say. I live up here in Redding and have planed a trip to Collins Lake second week in May I don't have a boat or anything just gonna rent one for a day. Been there a couple times in the past amazing place. When using flashers, and you're 36 - 40 inches behind with a spoon or something similar, is tipping them with bait ok or will this ruin the action of the spoon?? Thanks nubie here
Too much tipping can ruin the action, but you should be able to use a small chunk of bait most of the time. This is why it is critical to check the action of your bait at trolling speed next to the boat every time you put a line in the water. You will know right away if it is running properly or not. ~Wes

Hey Cal! Quick question - you mentioned that you typically don't use the 4" and 6" fisheye dodgers to simply bring in fish to the spread, and just use those to impart action to the bait. Why is that exactly? I have several 4 and 6" Slingblades and planned to use them at times as an attractor more than a dodger for action.. just wondering. Thanks!
Well I'll use then to pull in fish with lures that have their own action, but if I'm using a hoochie or something I use them to add action....I do thing the bigger blades are better suited to big water....
