This video helps cover content related to the 2017 National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) Required Supplemental Tasks - Tools and Equipment:
1. Identify tools and their usage in automotive applications.
2. Identify standard and metric designation.
3. Demonstrate safe handling and use of appropriate tools.
4. Demonstrate proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
5. Demonstrate proper use of precision measuring tools (i.e. micrometer, dial indicator, dial-caliper).

QUESTIONS FOR TEACHERS:
1. How do you speed up, or slow down, a RU-vid video?
2. What are the four types of feeler gauges shown in this video?
3. What is the purpose of the Starrett granite block shown in the video?
4. What is the purpose of the thumbscrew on the feeler gauges?
5. What is the smallest feeler gauge in my precision measurement toolbox?
6. What should be done to the feeler gauges before storing them in the toolbox?
7. What type of feeler gauges should be used when working next to a magnetic field?
8. What is a stepped feeler gauge?
9. Which edge of a straight edge should be used when checking for flatness?
10. What precautions should be taken to avoid damaging straight edges?

Nice video. It does take some practice to really use them. I am not a trans guy but, I am a diesel guy. When working in a confined space it may be difficult. I use them for a ton of valve adjustments. It is really hard to convey how much drag should be felt.
