One thing worth mentioning: there's a Google Keep Chrome extension that creates a Keep note from any webpage, saving you the copy/paste action that you showed in the video. Bonus: if you revisit that page you annotated in the future, the extension button will display in another color, signaling that you have a note attached to that URL
Re: "Ugly Work Around" for KEEP note in Calendar event. If you have HTML formatting enabled in calendar you will get a display with the horizontal hyperlink symbol displayed. Using that you can label the link to the KEEP note whatever you want.
The last tip with putting the Keep link in the calendar description, you can hyperlink wording to lead right to the Keep note. (ex: "Task List" could be highlighted and the hyperlink is inserted) GREAT TIPS!!!
This was game changing! I’ve used Google Calendar and Gmail for years. I’d always used the app Notes (on MAC and iPhone) to take notes on emails/meetings etc but this doesn’t link to Google calendar or gmail. Now you’ve shown me the light of Google Keep and how to integrate them it is going to make life much easier! Thank you so much for this video! 🙏
Stumbled upon your channel by accident. Ended up watching a couple of videos already and will be back for more. Thanks! Favorite tip from this one: that the related Keep note pops up whenever you open.a calendar event. Great way to keep information out of the calendar invite, but still connected. Archive tip was great too.
Thank you! I found this great video when I Googled "Can I see all the notes attached to a specific email in Keep" I enjoyed the video, but I was about to send you my question here in the comments, because I didn't see the answer in the video. But then, while watching the part about Calendar, you showed how the notes associated with a calendar event automatically pop to the top of Keep, and I said to myself "Aha!", I bet that's how it works in gmail, too! Thanks again.
Excelent Tutorial, I've started keeping notes for work emails to look at later in Keep rather than Printing and keeping in a file folder. I've also found that you can use keep with Google Doc's and Sheets.
Thank you. Very good. Worth noting that the Keep linkage does not require the calendar invite to be open. If you click on an item in your calendar and add a note Keep links it and if you click on an invite that is linked Keep will put it up top in related. Saves having to open the appointments.
I was already a fan of Google Calendar. Now I really love the productivity options. Your presentation content and pace was spot on. Yaaaaaas! Give me more.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I could not find the icon anywhere in calendar. It was so SIMPLE!. Had been researching for about 20mins until I came across this video. I appreciate this.
You can add a place on the Google keep. Example.. if you need to buy something from home depot, you can tag the home depot and it will alert you when are close by.
You are fantastic, your inflections keep the otherwise boring topic interesting. QUESTION: What if I have a note in Keep Titled "Nicole Review" for an employee and I want to have several emails linked and listed in her Keep Note?
That's awesome. Thanks for producing it. I wondered whether one Keep Note could apply to several events (e.g. one set of interview questions apply to several interviews), or one Note could reference several email messages. I suppose the last trick about URLs would be the key to that functionality?
Hi Scott you are awesome I learn from you every chance I get. You introduced me to Google keep and I love it. Thanks for alllllllll your tutorials. I will let all my friends know.
You always have helpful content in your videos. My favorite tip was the practicality of linking Gmail content to Keep notes and its great features. Thanks again Scott.
OMG! These tips are incredibly useful, thank you so much for sharing, this will help me so much. I wonder if Google shows these tips anywhere, if not they are missing out on a lot of potential first time Google accounts users 🙂
I've been meaning to learn more about Keep, glad I saw your video. Very helpful and informative. Can you explore how it links with Google docs next? Keep up the good work... 👍👍
My favorite tip from this tutorial was making a link between google calendar and keep. I noticed that you have google tasks on your panel. Would you happen to have tips and tricks for this app please?
Love you! I´ve been integrating Keep using your final tip (copying and pasting links), the way for not showing all URL address is using the link button ... but you change my game, thanks!!!
Love the idea of linking an email to a 'to do' in Keep, then adding a list of actions to be completed. Gonna be busy sorting a lot of my 'action required' emails. Many Thanks
One more thing, you can use the url link to the labels to see all the notes for a certain label, like tasks or todo, etc. That way you can created a shortcut straight to that label. For example If you want a shortcut to your todo lists. Click on your todo label in keep and just paste or save the label or created it in a bookmark for you browser. Also, you can create a google keep widget on an android phone by label as well.
@@lordbaron104 I will tell how to on Android. I assume Samsung devices are the same since they run android, but if not someone please correct me. From a Home screen, tap Apps. (located in the upper-right). From the Widgets tab, touch and hold the google keep widget, select the label you want to see, Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release
Love it! This is exactly the info I was looking for - want to sync with OneNote as well, but that's probably a different video lol. BTW what do you use to create your learning videos?
Thank you for this amazing video! It helped me change the way I work! I take notes to emails as explained. Then I open Zoom and schedule calls. I send the Zoom invitation straight through Gmail. It creates an appointment on my Google Calendar. Is there a way to link it to the related email and note? I keep taking notes on when the appointment for the call is. It would be much easier if it was linked.
Do you have any idea if Google plans on integrating a meetings notes template? Hate to mention OneNote, but there is a great way to start meeting minutes in OneNote when integrating with Outlook.
Can you share that? I use OneNote as well but our company uses google suites. Maybe send me a private message? I want to maximum OneNote usage. Thanks!
@@williamsanchez5419 , G-Suite had no way to do that. When I asked this question, I was at a company that used it and did away with Microsoft. Now I am at a company that uses MS, and I miss G-Suite so bad!! It is nice to have One Note again though.
On my iPad the sidebar wasn’t showing at all. I figured out I had to scroll to the very bottom of the left side panel where there is a way to select ‘View Gmail in:’ and switch from ‘Mobile’ to ‘Desktop’. Voila, it works now.
Fantastic Scott, I hadn't realised we could do all that clever linking! Don't suppose you've found a way to have contacts icon appear in calendar sidebar by any chance?
Does anyone know a way or do anything similar to this using the mobile app versions. I use my phone 99% of the time and would love to learn a mobile app workaround
hi do you recommend using Google Workshop for a small business? Im trying to use my domain but dont know if I can use it in the free option LOVE your videos
good to note that it's important to not delete the email from your inbox that is attached to a Keep Note. Otherwise, it's no longer accessible. Archive works, though.
Are you able to show how to do these same connections via the Google App like on a Tablet for instance. I use a tablet for work and I can't seem to figure out how to do these same things on the Tablet App. Only on my computer.
How can I add an email AND a calendar event to a note? Is there a way to start with a note and then add the email link and the calendar event? Thank you. Super helpful video!!!
First, let me say this tutorial was great...THANK YOU! Question: If a calendar event I make is a recurring meeting and a make a note to it, would it should up under each meeting (esp. if I set it as a reminder?) If not, would there be a way to turn this on (or off). TIA.
Thank you so much for your great tutorial, I have a question that you might have been asked before... I thought Google calendar keeps events forever however lately I've noticed that it only shows events from 6 months ago and I can't find events prior to that time not even in the trash. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know how I can revive my old events. 🙏
@Scott-Friesen - 5:21 Unfortunately, the cancellation of reminders results in the calendar not showing them anymore. Is there a work-around OR are you aware, the Google will integrate creating Tasks from Google Keeps instead?
It's hard to see what will happen once reminders are 100% gone. It looks like a straight forward transition within Calendar, but I'm worried we may lose some functionality within Keep.
Thank you for the vid. It's really useful and clear. Can I also add text to the text box in the meeting invite and save it, where it doesn't get send to the participants.
This is an incredible and very helpful video for me. Just a few questions, 1) have there been any updates since you made this video?, 2) If i have a meeting set on the calendar and several attendees email attachments for that meeting, is it possible to create a one to many linking, in other words, as each email comes in can I like it to the same calendar event? I'm thinking I could copy the URL of the email and paste in into the notes section of the calendar event. My reason for this is to create a meeting agenda from each of the emails of which those emails might get to me weeks or even days before the scheduled meeting. Or might you have another suggestion as to how I can streamline this type of process.
Got several tips, especially the linking! Can you 'create event' from a mobile phone? I cannot find the option on my phone by clicking the three dots. Very frustrating as I'm not always at my computer! The same for labels. Is it user error or it's just not possible from a mobile phone?
