Kinetics is so important in golf. I worked with Dr Ralph Mann as a researcher and instructor but he only focused on Kinematics.

Are golfers really shifting weight or pressure? Seems like weight shift has confused most of us golfers. Pressure and torque with the ground appears to be the vogue issue for movement and coordination of swings?

Like any element of the swing there are going to be ranges that you will find that work across successful golfers. But in general you tend to see most any elite level golfer with very early and pronounced transition of force to the lead leg to aid in the proper motion of the pelvis. They use the ground for both in keeping pelvis away from the ball (maintaining posture) and rotating the pelvis. What Dr. Standifird has seen in his measurements with this device is while there is no magic number, in general the strong and early weight shift to the lead leg are measurements you see time and time again on players with better handicaps. We've had various students come in for training session with Dr Standifird and an earlier and stronger movement of force to the lead leg can readily add club head speed for most golfers with just a small bit of training for example.

Very interesting video. Do you have any drills to help do the proper movement?

We will post another video on the channel soon that will discuss some drills for you to do. Thank you for watching!

I thought applying vertical lead arm parallel was early extension

We use the term early extension to describe a motions where the pelvis moves in towards the ball through impact. When you watch Nate's swing you will see he does a great job when the ground force is applied such that the pelvis stays away from the ball. The large spike in the force you see at lead arm parallel in the lead leg is helping drive the left hip back and away from the ball and not allowing it to get pulled into the ball as the trunk and arms follow the rotation. That leaves all the space for the trail side arm to properly release the wrist angles (no flipping) as the pelvis is not in the way. Hope that helps clarify. Thanks for watching.

Got to stretch the band, the fascia muscle. 😢The reason us oldie, have to wack at the ball....we lose that stretch.....Do yoga young, hang on to the stretch! Rorys' headed the same way as Tiger. Injuries !!! Hey, Rory, stop the madness. Do bands and yoga, and be a GOAT !

Yet Rory McIlroy says everything should come down together.

Not sure exactly the swing Rory would be referring to - the sequence and timing of what can be measured on the pressure plates shows the same pattern over and over in elite golfers. First a lateral force, then rotation, then an upward force from what the force plates see. Check out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zBjnqkmqMSo.htmlsi=kuSr9taC6NIhGVpb as well

Characterise thisnis another talking video. Just like the others.more actual hitting of a ball guys. Its simple. Less talking. Hit about 5 and explain and the manner in which to get to the peak force as hitting a ball
