Hairwax was originally intended to be a slick shiny product much like a pomade was. I think the name "hairwax" was misinterpreted in our modern hair grooming culture and is look up similar to hair "clay" which is totally different tbh lol Just a little rant. Peace.

I'd suggest only spreading the wax on your fingers, not the palm of the hand. As you dont really use your palm to apply wax, so more often than not you will not use the bit of wax in the palm of your hands.

Just to say. I tried, I really did. But never, never did I succeed with doing anything with hair wax. I'm best of going with clay or matt paste 😂
