As a welding engineer who's worked with and helped develop new welding technologies including welding power sources for the past 5years. This is a hand held laser welding power source with an automatic cold wire feed system. I had a chance to see one of these used live at fabtech 2022. The principle of laser welding has been around for a while, but only recently could these laser generators be manufactured small enough to be a consumer product. Though these systems are limited in power, practically being able to weld only thin gauge. 3/16" carbon steel with some struggle. They do allow for fast travel speeds and low heat input due to their incredibly focused nature. Though due to safety requirements most places are hesitant to implement them in any real capacity.
You are really professional, thanks for your comment. Right now the most powerful handheld laser welder can reach 3000Watt, which is much strong than regular 1000Watt laser power.

For thin metal including mild steel, shielding gas is always recommended cause it is significant to ensure high weld quality, and prevent oxidation. What welding tools are you using?
