Evan thanks for your continued contributions to the advancement in BMW automotive services, I have two 04 spec 530 BMW's one is a manual and one a auto the adaptive function for the headlights on neither work the manual i brought new so I know they did work for a great deal of its life and when they did stop working once lights were replaced under warranty delaminating. Auto was not working when purchased. However I have replaced the AHL, and the motor controllers on the manual even swapped the lights out between cars in different Combinations to no avail the manual says that they fail to wake and the other says AHL failure, I can however go into inpa and make the lights move on the manual car, I also have ista d and ista p not that familiar with it so trying to find where I go and try to get them to work again, also would the steering wheel having random dtc, traction, and cruise errors have any bearing on the issue at a loss. Thinking about spending money on new lights but not sure if it would fix the issue of not wakeing up error

Great video Evan!! I have problem ista+ communicating with all the modules. Even 3 dealerships are not able to communicate with all modules. Any thoughts on what could be causing the failure to communicate? I can send you screenshots of the vehicle test results if that helps.

Following his instructions worked for me, but had to do 2 things to get the USB cable to connect to my car (E70): 1. I edited in the Ediabas.bin file under the Ediabas/bins/ folder to interface = STD:ODB from REMOTE and 2. Under Windows Device Manager Port Settings Advanced I changed the COM Port to 1 (no other number works) the 2 transfer rates to 4096 and the latency to 1.

Bricking is easy with some modules. I managed to fry my frm3 in e90, as i was doing connection in ignition on, engine off position. Even rewriting eeprom did not help, had to get a new one.

Thanks so much for the helpful video. I've got a 2011 X5 35i E70. and I'm chasing a Dynamic Drive malfunction issue. Carly gave e 006273 code which was somewhat vague. So I obtained ISTA and trying to get it to work with my X5. I think I had the wrong interface selected in the software, I'm using a DCAN cable and need to switch to your recommendation (eidabus?). I feel my issue is either the Dynamic Drive control module or the valve body itself-(Dynamic Drive controls the electronic roll bars)--hoping ISTA can pinpoint my issue! Do you have any experience with Dynamic Drive issues, or my fault code 006273 in particular? Thanks again!

Hey Evan, I am trying to understand how I can add a Diesel Auxiliary Heater to my F15, When I go into ISTA+ and go to Vehicle Management and Service Plan, Under Body the the Diesel Auxiliary Heater item is there in light grey (this is Europe only, but I want to add it to my canadian vehicle) when I click the line item, display is not available, but create test plan is, when I added to test plan and then go to Service Plan and under Programming Plan, I can see line item, along with all the other updates for module, if I select the line item Auxiliary Heater and then on the bottom right and select execute measures plan, will that only add the Auxiliary Heater, or go through and update the vehicle completely?

hello Evan Goyuk im planning to replace my old valve body to a used one from ebay...i heard i would need to programm or code the new valve body once instaled so will i be able to do all this using ista? 7:27 When i select my icom, I still cant click in "setup connection". I can read the vin and the "state" is free, i dont understand.

Hello Evan - I appreciate the video. ISTA+ is very complicated and not intuitive for people like me who are new to it and not using it so much. HOWEVER, I have a problem. Using ISTA+ v 47 - which is the last release before BMW shut down later versions. I have loaded it up. Entered the VIN and it appears to function. NOW MY PROBLEM. I have a permanent code that shows on my separate OBD tool for the air flaps at the radiator. I have the occasional "Drivetrain error message - you can continue to drive, contact nearest service provider." The drivetrain error comes and goes. The air adjustable suspension control in not working and now the traction control light comes on from time to time BUT in ISTA, the FAULT MEMORY tab is grayed out!!! And, there is no place else I can find any codes. Yes, I have an "ACTIVE" case and all the other standalone functions seem to work. Late 2016 750i X-Drive. So, I know I have faults, but why would ISTA have no stored codes?!?
