This was quite useful as we're in the market for 4 good quality stone pots. My only constructive advise is that I wish you had recommended a stone pot brand to buy. I'd prefer to buy pots that are (south) Korean made. 6yrs later ppl are still replying, so I'd say this is a successful view LOL

Where can I buy an authentic Dolsot, outside of Korea (currently living in Europe). I can not find them anywhere, except some made out of clay, which is not the real deal and very expensive ones on ebay with high shipping costs.

You use sushi rice in this demo. Can you make any type of rice in it? I'm guessing so, but best to check, I think: long grain, basmati, brown...maybe even wild rice (which is not a rice, but is cooked in a similar way)....??? And is sushi rice the typical kind of rice used in Korean cooking? Thanks so much for the lesson in using this stone pot. I've been watching Korean videos where I see it used a lot and was wondering about its pros and cons when it comes to making rice.

Yes, you can use whatever rice using the stone pot. Also, sushi rice is the main type of rice used in Korean cuisine so, both yes :)

IRIS GONZALEZ Hi Iris, no worries if you didn't put any salt or and starch in the seasoning solution. Seasoning is just to help the stone to get use to heat and salt before using. Warm the pot a bit on low heat before every use and you'll be fine :)

For a family of 6 people what size I need to pic of this stone pot& thanks
@CafeYooky
@CafeYooky 6 лет назад
NBA livestream The size will totally depend on the manufacturer so I can’t guarantee but usually the size chart runs by serving size(ex. Size 1, 2 3 and 5 people). I would buy two 3 serving pots instead of a big one because stone pots are extremely heavy, way heavier than cast iron pots. The size for 3 people is approximately 150mm(15cm/6in.) and serves 2-3 people. It would be enough for 3 if you eat moderately.

Thank you for your excellent and helpful video!! Im loving my stone pots! Today, I accidentally had the temperature too high and burnt inside the stone pot. It is about a 3 inch black burn. Can you advise me how to remove it? I already tried baking soda and some sea salt, but could not get the stain completely out. In sh Allah you will have some advice for me. THANK YOU!!!!~!
@CafeYooky
@CafeYooky 4 года назад
According to the instruction from my stone pot manual, you can use a #200 sandpaper to sand it out. They use the same sandpaper when finishing up the product so no worries about damaging the stone pot :)

Ace Shadow I recommend the one I have, although I’m not sure if you can get it here in the US. Mine is 장수곱돌솥(jangsu-gobdolsot), a brand which makes Korean stoneware exclusively -just in case, not sponsored. For ceramic ware, I don’t have a decent brand claypot so might not be helpful for that, haha. Please feel free to ask if you have any other Questions :)

@CafeYooky
@CafeYooky 2 года назад
Search on Amazon with the keyword 'Korean Stone pot' and look for a pot that is greyish and looks like granite. Shiny black pots are all ceramic pots or clay pots. I don't mean you can't use them. It's just bc you will have different results -stone pots reach higher temperatures than clay or ceramic pots resulting in different tastes in food.

Long Pham I bought mine in Korea but I’m sure you can get them at any Korean grocery store. I live in North California and all of the Korean Grocery store here carry them. They don’t have the exact same pot but still they work fine. If you don’t have any access to Korean grocery stores, you can get it online: I’ve seen them on amazon and also at worldmarket, although the worldmarket one is not very authentic since it has a glass lid.

I admit I went for the more traditional whole food culinary dishes there as that's my personal preference. Sorry I came off so negative. I just reread my comment. Musta been a bad day or something.
