the hot fluid outlet temperature is 50 [C].
This video shows how you can solve a heat exchanger problem using LMTD_CF function in EES (Engineering Equation Solver) or the right graph from Cengel's Heat Transfer book. To learn more about EES, watch this video:

Very helpful video. It would have been really helpful if it was released in my academic years using EES software during my academic years. Great job!

Hi! is it possible to use the Shell&Tube_2 for a situation with 2 shell passes and 8 tube passes. Seems to me EES only uses multiples of 2. So it assumes 2 shells = 4 tubes. The 6th edition of Cengel uses Two-shell passes and 4, 8, 12, etc. (any multiple of 4), tube passes. My answers are slightly off. For question 22-64 I get 15,36m^2 , and I have an answer guide that gets 14,5 m^2. If the short answer is "no" then so be it xD Thank you!

Also by using FIGURE 22-19 and reading F=0,82 (using P=0,64 and R=1,1) That then grants me the correct answer. Would be nice if EES could program to a multiple of 4 instead of 2 only.
