I think a head angles / perspective tutorial would be very useful. My biggest struggle as a non artist has been understanding perspective and how shapes change according to angles. Thanks!

this is really useful information thankyou!! i’ve had details on the mouth get warped to oblivion and I’m just starting out so I didn’t bother much with it but glad to know I can use this for like, future stuff !! also everything was really clear that was dope 😎😎

I found that if you select the layers the other way around, you can move the lineart points instead of the skin layer! :D

You're right!! I normally did it the other way around but when I was recording the video I did it reverse 😂😂 It doesn't effect the outcome too much but i think working with the lineart layer might be a little more intuitive

Thanks for the video! Either I'm flat brain, but I've always thought the skin layer was meant to cover the inside of the mouth but looking at your model that's not the case How is the clipping done?
@shepishepu
@shepishepu 2 года назад
No you're not flat brain! The skin layer is meant to cover the inside of the mouth. The reason I sometimes use the cipping method is because I have a lipstick layer separate that I don't want to be warped too much, but if you don't clip it to the skin layer, then it has to be merged together. If you get the glue to work, then all you have to do is copy the Artmesh ID of the skin layer and add it into the clipping box for the lipstick layer if you have one. If you dont have any kind of lipstick/lip colour layer, then you don't necessarily have to use mouth glue, however it does make it easier if you want the lineart/skin colour layers to be separated for whatever reason you may have.

@@shepishepu Oh! I meant that your skin layer didn't completely cover the inside! I've seen multiple models that are also like that so I don't know if it gets resized during the rigging or if it gets clipped somewhere somehow 🙇 apologies if the question didn't really make sense

@@sou6593 Ohh! Are you talking about 7:20 ish where the mouth inside is larger than the skin layers? If so then you're correct, when I first drew the inside mouth layer I made it bigger than the skin layers. My reasoning for this is that I try to draw the inside layer at the largest it will become when rigging, ie the mouth open at 1.0. When keyframing, I make sure to make it smaller at the mouth close key. I generally do this as a guide for myself on how big I want the mouth to become once it opens to it's apex. I'm not sure if this helps!

Isn't glue makes it impossible to use warp deformers on glued parts? Like, if i glue mouth and then make head XY, mouth will be stuck into original form? I remember having these problems with braids physics which i did with skinning (which applied glue automatically).
@shepishepu
@shepishepu 2 года назад
So the problem you had with skinning is that you can't use warp deformers on rotation deformers properly (which skinning automatically generates) Using glue on the mouth has no effect on the warp deformer as long as you have all the objects in the deformer!
