I like that the photo you’re coloring is printed with gray ink

Thanks, Amy! 😃 I like coloring on lighter gray line art because it's similar to coloring over a pencil sketch. For this artwork, I created the line art in the Procreate app and then made the line art gray so that the line art disappears when the color is applied. I enjoy this method a lot! 🎨

@@thaneeya I wondered how you did that! Love it! I often wish my coloring books had gray lines!

Glad I caught this before bed tonight! You manage so many colors admirably. Will have to watch again for the lessons... I'm usually hypnotized by the process and forget to listen to the info. Thanks for another great video. :)

Thanks so much, Chad! Balancing colors can be tricky, so I often like to do some quick "color tests" (either on paper or in the Procreate app) before committing to the final color scheme. 😃

Do you draw the pictures before coloring or is it a pre drawn picture?

Hi! This is my artwork. I draw the line art first and then color it in. 😃

Hello Thaneeya, OMGG! I am totally In Love with this Gorgeous Kitty Witch/Wizard! You manage to make the entire coloring process a thing of Magic within itself! I sat here totally Entranced and Mesmerized the entire video. I could watch you color like this for hours! I would love to see you make more videos about layering the alcohol markers and tones and colors to create the feeling of depth and 3 dimensional perspectives.[ I hope that made sense.] I just bought the Ohuhu markers and I have some crayola and prismacolor [very old] color pencils. Waiting to get enough cash to buy some soft lead color pencils. Anyway... I love the look one can achieve by blending and layering with Alcohol Markers. When I was growing up that sort of art was not even close to possible with any kind of marker. So I would be very excited to watch more coloring videos with any and all sorts of layering and blending processes you can create with all of the same supplies you used for this video. Also...Do you think you might be able to show us some of the many coloring books you have created over the years, and maybe do a walk through of each one you show us, so that we can see what each book has to offer? [Just a thought, might generate more sales for you as well as showcase your art/coloring books.] Maybe you can also sometime make a video about how you got your coloring books published and out there? I am also an Artist but have no first clue how to go about getting an Art/Coloring book published. And I'm in my late 50's and have had very little social media presence and or experience. I'm also not very computer smart, so not familiar with making art online either. [Digital Artwork] I have just about all I can do to post Pics up on social media most of the time. lol. I have always been a fast learner, but these days it's like every kid out there is born using the internet. When I ask my kids to teach me, their reply is Mom, just start pressing buttons and figure it out, that's how most of us learn... it's not like you're going to break the pc or the internet. Lol. Anyway, Not really sure what direction you are taking with your awesome channel, but thought I might tell you about what I would love to see, since you did ask, and in a few of your videos you shared very briefly that you are published. So, I thought that maybe others might also be interested in learning the ropes of getting published and or maybe the easiest and the cheapest way to do it. I have seen youtube channels here that children have and they are Artists and they are selling stickers and prints of their artwork as well as other items and they also have their own online shop, etc. and I am blown away by all of it, because they are so very young and they are doing what I am at this point, only able to dream of doing. I've looked around and have not been able to find anyone here on youtube that takes you through a detailed walk through where to go, and how to go about getting published [step by step] which for me, would be what someone who has no clue would need. and also what you need to know about getting started even down to where to go to get packing materials and how to price stuff so it's cost effective. [ Sorry, I feel like maybe I'm asking for the World and maybe I'm the only one here interested in all of this.] But, My Mom told me, never be afraid to ask for help when you need it. No one is an island. Anyways, sorry to run on so much. Wishing you Love, Light, Peace and Prosperity. Namaste!

Thanks for your comment ~ I'm so happy you enjoyed my video! 😃 It is amazing what can be achieved with alcohol markers compared to the markers we used as kids. 😊 I actually have an old RU-vid channel where I posted slideshows and flip-throughs of all my coloring books: www.youtube.com/@ThaneeyaMcArdleArt In terms of how I got published, a publisher approached me almost 10 years ago after seeing my printable coloring pages online, and asked if I would be interested in creating coloring books with them. So I don't have any firsthand advice about how to approach publishers, because my books came about from publishers contacting me first. They found me because I was creating artwork and putting it out there on social media and my website, so keep doing that! These days, it is harder to get noticed than it was 10 years ago, due to increasing competition. Many publishers allow submissions on their website, so that can be a good place to start. If you're interesting in self-publishing, there's a lot of info out there about how to self-publish your own coloring book (to sell on Amazon, for example). It's not something I've done so I can't help in that regard. 😊 Sometimes artists who sell stickers and prints also post videos about the business side of things, so you could do a search for "How I make and sell my stickers" etc. Start doing those types of searches on RU-vid and I'm sure you'll find some good info! Good luck with it all! 💖

I have been trying to do underpainting and it doesn’t seem to look quite right. I don’t know if I’m choosing the wrong underpaint colors or the wrong color values. This tutorial will be the perfect challenge for me to get more practice at it. Can’t wait to start!

Thanks for your comment, Christina! 😃 There is a lot of trial and error with picking colors for underpainting, but the more you do it, the better your instincts will become! I usually choose dull, muted colors for the underpainting layer (grays, violets, blue-violets or earth tones). Keep practicing! 🎨
