How to use old D-Link router as Wi-Fi extender

So simple explanation. straight a lay man can easily understand and setup wifi repeater router in house. Keep it up. If the fiber cable connected is in a different floor or far away from main fiber cable connected router, RJ 45 ethernet cable has to be connected from main router to the repeater now setting up. While RJ45 cable is used one has to follow the allowed length keeping in view of signal drop instead of invariably increasing length. Repeater router will act as wifi device at new place once set-up.

Assist me on how to minimise speed reduction. From 100-150mbps in the main router, it reduces to below 20mbps. Tried with two brands including dir 816 model.

I am using DLink 628 and my interface is completely different from this, with no option to use "Repeater" through the menu (I guess this is the newer addition to the firmware and newer routers). Wish I could find a Tutorial for my router to change it into a repeater.

I followed the same steps but still my wifi is showing as limited & from mobile it's showing "Couldn't get ip address" just to note I use Static IP in my main router.

Brother this is very simple process. However, it is all good till last pop up of accessing. After clicking ok, takes 30 secs then shows me a link and writes " click this link to make further configuration. Once I click that, my router wifi is not detectable/ cannot be logged in.
