How to use parallel processing in Reason 12 to make your mixes sound more professional 

Good tutorial however all but one device was 3rd party VSTs, I'd like to see how people can use Reason 12 stock devices more to do similar tasks.

Very nice and easily replicated with reason stock devices. I tend to use splitters and line mixers so will try a combi patch with this approach.

This tells me how to stick parallel channels on, but it omits to tell me *why*. Why do this? What advantage does it have over using insert effects and turning them up or down to the desired volume?

Why are you making a parallel channel, why not use aux send for reverb?

I saw this tutorial a few days ago, really liked it, and was curious about something. Is is possible, when creating parallel channels further down the effects chain, to have those effects stack up? For example, I have a bassline and created a parallel channel with a delay and mixed it in. I want to add a chorus to the mix to give it some more presence but even though the chorus channel is a parallel created from the delay line, there is no delay in the chorus signal. Would this be a situation where i'd need to put both effects in the same channel or route the cables differently on the back?

Did he actually explain what a parallel channel was? Presumably it's just duplicating the audio, but we can now add other fx, and A/B mix them?

Is there a special reason why you use the Fabfilter instead of using the filters of that channel?

You guys got a lot of 'mumbling' bass sounds somewhere in the background of the room playing / resonating, a very noisy mic and a regularly buzzing phone too... hahaahahaa. Well how can I say it...: pretty annoying when listening this video thru headphones, for the best hearing experience of all the changing settings being explained. Otherwise: very nice tutorial. Never thought of using a bitcrusher (?) to add white noise in a parallel channel of a drum track to add energy. Amazing tip
