Your videos never dissappoint! ❤ I truly feel so blessed to have found your channel now while I am going through bettering my skincare and my skins journey to hopefully less acne or acne-free. I decided to learn more about this product after you recommended me (from a different video) to try this one out before I go all out using the 2% BHA exfoliant (the one in the greyish black bottle). I decided to look up some videos on this "clear anti redness" product and of course I see you having made yet another amazing + informative video on this product as well ☺ I am gonna get this product for sure now and can't wait to see how it works for me! Again thank you so much for all the helpful videos for us!

Thank you so much for eveything. It was so soothing and informative. My mom in law gave me a starter pack of paulas choice products to start a skin care routine for the first time ever but never used them and didnt know how to start. This video is my saver, and like having you as a mentor. Thank you very much and i will start tomorrow with a proper rutine. ❤

Maria you are amazing!! You seem to know EXACTLY what i was asking in head and had everything “ready beforehand” and explained everything step by step beautifully!! 😳 I wish I knew so much about skin care as you do, but I’ve learnt so much just watching this video! I have dull lifeless non glowing skin 🙄 I’ve never used any aha/bha products apart from one Paula’s choice that was too STRONG n broke me out so I stopped! I’ll try this and see how it goes. Can I use rose water as a toner if I use this product? I love rose water it’s so cooling and refreshing also is chemical or mineral sunscreen better with this? Thank you. 👍🏼☺️

Hey! :) Thank you🥰 Yes, Paula's Choice has pretty strong treatments, so you have to be careful! Also, Paula's Choice has different exfoliating acids like different formulations of BHA (Salicylic Acid) as well as AHA (Glycolic or Lactic Acid). Usually, AHA exfoliating acids are recommended for dry-dull-looking skin. What's your skin type? What are your skin concerns other than dullness? What do you currently use? Technically, mineral sunscreens are much better, but they often leave a white cast. So, looking into a mixture of chemical and mineral sunscreen, this would be your best option :)

Fantastic video. You didn't mention that the grey version has an oily consistency, and the Clear regular strength version does not (the clear extra strength version is the same as the grey version). I have somewhat oily skin so I am concerned about this. I am currently using The Ordinary salicylic acid anhydrous version, and it's absolutely not fun when you have somewhat oily skin. Apparently after applying moisturiser the oily/greasy texture goes away? I dunno. I don't want to have to wait hours for the oil to absorb into the skin good enough to move onto the next step (and by then my own natural oils are coming out). I wish the rereleased The Ordinary Salicylic acid was available in my country (released after the anhydrous one). Edit: Actually I think I'll get both of them... oily one for night time (wouldn't be nearly as oily as T.O anhydrous) and the Clear for day time (if needed. I get dead skin build-up so ridiculously fast).

@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 2 года назад
Can't you get the normal Ordinary 2% Salicylic Acid Solution? That one is water-based which feels much better on the skin. If you can't get that one, try PC Clear 2% BHA Regular Strength, that one feels great as well. I prefer that one over PC 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant.
@Siberius-
@Siberius- 2 года назад
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial - I wish. No where in Australia stocks the rereleased non-anhydrous one, annoyingly. Also noticed that popular chains in the US also often don't have it for some reason. Currently for me the Paula's Choice Clear regular is also out of stock lol. So currently I'm down to either the regular PC (oily one), orrr the Revolution Skincare 2% Salicylic Acid Serum. You have a video on the Revolution one, would you say that one is oily? I wonder how Revolution compares in general to TO and PC Clear... Edit: Oh, in response to someone asking your opinion on The Ordinary vs Revolution, you said: "But the one from revolution works just as good; it just has the fragrance you may or may not like. 😉"
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 2 года назад
@@Siberius- Get the one from Revolution. It's similar to the Ordinary one however, it includes fragrance. Still if you do not mind it that would be a great option.
@Siberius-
@Siberius- 2 года назад
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial - Not a huge fan of fragrances, but I'll still be picking up a bottle of the Revolution one today, see how that goes, and then I'll probably also try the PC Clear when that's back in stock for me, and then maybe one day in the distant future I'll be able to try The Ordinary one when it reaches Australia. Excited about not having to use the anhydrous one anymore, I think the oil makes it weak as hell, can't use much of it because it's oily, and I can only use it once per day at night time because I don't want to be oily through the day and don't have time in the morning to wait hours for it to soak in to a somewhat good enough degree before applying moisturiser. Thank you for your help! super appreciated.

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial - Came back to this video over a year later and saw my comment lol (edited a confusion at the start where I called the grey bottle the "regular" bottle, not realising that sounds like I'm talking about the regular strength blue "Clear" bottle). It's time for me to order some Paula's Choice BHA, and I am now having to figure this one out lol. It's annoying for me that the Clear version is not as strong as the extra strength/original grey bottle version, since I want the liquidy non-oily one, but at extra strength. But I don't think that is their "fault", since it seems the oiliness (Methylpropanediol?) is inherently also the reason for the enhanced penetration. But also Butylene Glycol (also enhances penetration) is lower on the ingredients for the regular strength version. In response to a review about the extra strength version, they said: "Hello, and thank you for your feedback! Though it does contain the same concentration of salicylic acid, it contains additional penetration enhancers that mean it is a stronger formula overall (the Regular Strength version does not have these additional ingredients that aid in absorption and penetration, to make it milder for those who have not tried a salicylic acid product before). We hope this answers your question!" So I just realised that I don't think they give a shit about the texture at all... like it really was just a side-effect of them wanting to make the regular strength one more mild. They just spring it on people that the extra strength is actually more oily lol. That all makes sense now. I have been using the NON-oily The Ordinary salicylic acid solution for a long time now, it did make it to Australia. About a BILLION times better than the anhydrous version. I wonder if the PC Clear regular strength version is also stronger than TO salicylic acid solution (like how the original grey bottle version is). Surely it's not THAT oily though, since it seems only a few people in existence have even mentioned it, so it must be rather okay... I imagine TO Anhydrous solution would be way more oily, since that literally has squalane as the base. You did say that you prefer the blue regular strength over the grey bottle one... With the black Friday sale very soon, I think I'm just going to get both in the big size and see what's up. I want to start tretinoin soon, so the regular strength would be more fitting for that down the line when I could eventually bring BHA back into my weekly routine without too much irritation from the hypothetical tretinoin. Then with deciding between the original grey bottle and the repackaged Clear extra strength, oddly enough, there is a slight difference in the listed ingredients. The extra strength Clear now has a preservative called Phenoxyethanol (at least on the Australian website). I'd get the grey bottle because it's more iconic (lol) and I can tell them apart easier. Although I should say that I would use too much product for sure. With my current TO salicylic acid solution, I would put 4 drops on the tips of my fingers, and then rub only the tips of my fingers together and then rub that into my face excluding my forehead. 1 more drop for the forehead, and then 1 drop for my ears, and then I just leave the neck because what am I gonna use more than 6 drops? outrageous. I noticed in your short that you used 4 drops for your whole face and neck, AND both your palms (which is like a whole other face). I started spreading my moisturiser on my hands more before application, and it goes on a lot easier and smoother with better coverage for sure (counterintuitively). Before I was struggling to make it go from one area to another. The oiliness with PC should be far more tolerable your way for sure. With Glycolic acid I would use a whole TO 30ml bottle dropper's worth (one squeeze-worth), which is a wee bit excessive (skin must be pretty equipped to deal with acids). I'd use too much TO beta-glucan moisturiser too! I finally found that if I use less, my face doesn't stay disgustingly tacky for many hours (especially if acids are under it, especially glycolic acid, which goes sticky in and of itself especially when too much is used). What a nightmare. Maybe you could make a video telling people to settle down with how much product they might be applying lol. I type too much. It's how I organise my thoughts.

You’ve been making skincare videos and teaching people what to use and what not to use for such a long time yet you still don’t have a glass skin. You still have acne. Seems that what you’re teaching and telling people to do doesn’t work for you. I don’t know what kinda message that sends about your knowledge…

Do you think just because someone has great looking skin, he/she has any knowledge about skincare? If so, please explain. And personally, I haven't sold my soul to the devil. I stay true to myself, and I show people what they can achieve while using treatments without blinding them and making a sale just because I want to make a profit. I am here to help people since no one else does. And generally, if you do not like my content or think that I am not knowledgeable, you do not need to watch it; there are plenty of other people that you can watch and gather "knowledge."

@@Ranaydin I think you may not understand the difference between a treatment and a cure. A treatment can help improve the current condition that you are suffering from but does not mean that the condition will disappear if you do not find the cause. For example, my breakouts are primarily hormonal. So no matter what I do, I will get them once a month, and the dark spots stay for a couple of weeks. But suppose I use Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid. In that case, I can get it under control within a few days to 1 week (otherwise, the active acne stays for several weeks) So that means that the treatments work = knowledge for people to help them improve it. Apart from that, I also have to try the combinations I am doing, so, therefore, I do suffer from purging every now and then since I really test the products on my skin for weeks and sometimes even months with daily pictures. Because I also practice what I preach. I do not want to blame others since I am not aware of how they do it, but based on my experience, most are not honest in what they are doing since it is impossible to do! You can find several before and after trials here: (ru-vid.com/group/PLEZmBwdHv3M_f39sJdw54LUSxAHET8BAj) I haven't done such a video in a while since the trials are incredibly time-consuming (since I cannot use any other products while doing that, which leads to the points mentioned above), and not many people watch them. They hardly get any views over time. Still, I am taking weekly pictures to document how the skin behaved over time. So far, it has improved, but acne is still there but much less. This is already a bit older but you can find a "mini" comparison here (imgur.com/a/IBSAjoJ) And yes, you are right; maybe I am doing something wrong, and I am still learning, but I am also honest with my viewers and show what works for me, and if people follow the advice, they will improve their current condition. Unless it is a medical condition, they need to see a doctor. Anyway, you are welcome to stay. If not, I wish you all the best and take care.

@@rheannakonken702 another suck up 😂 one’s opinion doesn’t always have to be positive dude, so chill your beans. I didn’t swear or curse at her. I just shared what i think which happens not to be the same with her. As an audience my expectation is to see a clearer and healthier skin if they’re going to teach about skincare. It’s like telling people what to do to quit smoking with a cigarette in her hand. Her method or whatever she’s talking about clearly didn’t work for her. As long as a person doesn’t curse or swear at someone i think freedom to state one’s “negative” opinions is as important as the “positive” ones. The comment section is not only for suck ups. It’s for everyone.
