The second part of the sentence doesn't require a reflexive verb form, but needs some improvement. "Eu tenho (I have) aulas de português." or "Eu aprendo português." 😊

Obrigada! Muito útil, especialmente a palavra machucar-se. My students are always hurting themselves at recess. One main difference I notice between Spanish and Portuguese is the use of the hyphen with pronouns.

Here in Rio I was told to use "noish"' (thats how it sounds) in place of "nos"'. Will other people understand this? I think the other pronunciation sounds too much like nus when I say it hahaha

Olá Bea, I went on the conjugation website that you provided but it seems a bit overwhelming because I don't understand some of the headings haha. I know a lot of people recommend it over the reverso conjugation website. Do you think I should learn the compound conjugations (combining "have/had" with a past participle eg. Eu tenho feito) or should I just learn the simple conjugation: Eu fiz?
Olá Peter! It is important that you know the past participle of regular and irregular verbs, but start off by learning well the simple conjugations. I will definitely make some lessons on compound conjugations because their use is not so obvious. For example, if you translate literally "I have done my homework" into Portuguese, you will find "Eu tenho feito minha lição de casa"; however, this is NOT what you meant. "I have done my homework" is equivalent to "Eu fiz minha lição de casa" (it is past - it is over) "Eu tenho feito minha lição de casa" is equivalent to "I have been doing my homework". 😬 Sooner or later you will come across compound conjugations, so it is better if you know the past participle (mainly the irregular ones) by heart. 😊
Obrigado Bea. Isn't " have been doing" a present perfect progressive tense. Have can that be put under the pretérito perfeito heading? I thought pretérito perfeito means present perfect (have + past participle). Maybe I'm confused because I don't know what 'feito' means 😅 Ok, I'll focus on simple conjugations for now
Hi Peter, 'Pretérito Perfeito' is equivalent to both Past Simple and Present Perfect tenses. 'Pretérito Perfeito Composto' is equivalent to the Present Perfect Progressive. I am saying equivalent because it is not always like that. For the 'Pretérito Perfeito Composto' you will need to know the past participles of the verbs, because it is a combination of 'ter + particípio', ex.1 'Eu tenho estudado' (I have been studying); 'estudado' is the past participle of 'estudar' ex.2 'Ela tem trabalhado muito' (She has been working a lot); 'trabalhado' ' is the past participle of 'trabalhar' ex.3 'Eles têm feito a lição de casa' (They have been doing their homework); 'feito' ' is the past participle of 'fazer'. I will make a lesson on this matter further down the line 😎
