Hope you noticed as first step the dial needs to be set to CURRENT TIME (Clock setup), at 27 sec as I SAY present time is 8:00 am so middle arrow is aligned to 8. In my case having done 'CURRENT TIME' at 8:00 am and 'PROGRAM TIME' set between 4:00 am to 8:00 am, the boiler will get switched ON next day morning at 4:00 am when dial rotates clockwise and reaches middle arrow . Actually either of the arrows (middle or right hand side) can be used as reference to setup Clock (Current Time) and Programming times.

@@bicyclecolours8988 Hello, my boiler is the same as this and to set the current time I have to use the arrow at 3 o'clock, the 12 o'clock arrow only deals with the function.

Hi Giri, Using the timer at off peak time will definitely give advantage on bills. Switching off boiler when not in use will have advantage but make sure you don’t land up water freeze in pipes which will make things more complicated.

Hi, You can get a Thermostat installed and connected to your boiler. This will eliminate use of Timer. Please note that disabling the timer function on your boiler may increase your energy consumption and lead to higher utility bills. It is recommended that you consult with a professional plumber or electrician before making any changes to your boiler.

Hi Miriam, When you put Manual Off then this will set Timer to continuously off. The boiler will switch On and Off based on hot water use and for room heating based on thermostat setting. The bills entirely depends on your usage.

Hi Marlena, The boiler is fitted with frost protection that operates in all modes, provided the power supply to the boiler is always turned on. If the water in the boiler falls below 5ºC, the frost protection will activate and run the boiler to avoid freezing. The process does not guarantee that all other parts of the system will be protected. Ideally boiler should always have electricity supply. In your case I assume when the power went down the temperature fall below 5ºC and might have caused some frozen pipes to radiator. Quick fix to try - Turn Central Heating Temperature Knob to min and switch Off the Mode Knob. Leave for few seconds and switch On Mode Knob to Hot water and Radiator (tap and radiator symbol). Set Central Heating Temperature Knob to required temperature. If this doesn't help then recommended to consult a safe Registered Engineer.

Hi Rosemary, The mechanical timer is only to setup On and Off period for boiler. You can switch Domestic Hot Water Mode ON via Mode Control Knob so there is only hot water supply and no heating activated.

Hey, The 0 position is to set the timer to be continuously off, it is called 'Manual Off' position.

Yes, If the tappets are up then it will switch on heating during that period.

@@bicyclecolours8988 perhaps I didn’t explain it well. If I set the time to the top arrow (say 11am) and then set the tappets to the on position, The heating will not come on until it reaches the arrow to the right of the centre.

Hi Harry, The second arrow printed on the right side of the dial is just a time and control indicator. I hope you set the knob to "Timed ON" position after finishing tappet setup. The "Timed ON" position for knob is like straight vertical (you can see a small clock symbol). This causes dial to rotate in clockwise direction. The boiler should turn ON when programmed tappet reaches arrow on top middle. Sometimes there is a possibility boiler may not light when in “Timed ON” or “Manual ON” position. In such instances increase temperature on room stat.

@@MancAlB I’ve just had the same realisation! If the timer is set to the arrow at the top say 18:00 and the switches are set to 18:00 then the boiler won’t do anything, I need to set it 4 hours back

Since the video shows setting up of 'CURRENT TIME' and 'PROGRAM TIME' as same (8 am) the viewers may get get little confused. I must have demonstrated with different times and putting bold comments. Having done 'CURRENT TIME' and 'PROGRAM TIME' set to same, the boiler will get switched On next day when dial rotates and reaches middle arrow.
