If you have multiple groups, like Axiom, how can you add other groups for Shift? Right now you can add people who are part of Axiom group. You may have users from other groups as well.
You would need to have a separate schedule for each Team or you could create one Team and call it Shifts Schedule, add everyone to it and use that team for Shifts.
This was a really useful video. The thing I am struggling to find out with Shifts is; How can I make it send a notification to the team member when their shift is about to start? Does it actually do that? Basically, I want to schedule a shift for "Alice", starting today at 10am. I want teams to push a notification to Alice's Activity when that shift is starting. Do you know if that is doable? Thanks.
Hey @tudibelle, Great question! You can't do this inside Shifts at the moment, but you can use Power Automate to help this. You can tell Power Automate to send either a Teams message or Outlook email to an employee when their shift is starting. I hope this helps. Thanks! -Kaleigh
@@axiomtech3627 thanks for this really useful reply! I've been wanting to teach myself power automate. (I do think it's a little silly that you can set many notifications, but shift start isn't one of them. )
If you mean to manage the Shift schedule, yes. If you mean to use your Teams Shifts account, no. It's tied to your email, so they would have to login to Teams using your email. To allow someone to manage the Shift schedule for you, you just have to make them an Owner of the team.
Hi team, now that you've been using Shift for a while - what are your thoughts? Do you still use it? How big is your team? Is there a maximum capacity? Are staff able to put in their availability?
Nice video. Can you move a group in a Shift Team to another Shift Team? Using your example in the video, moving the Customer service group to another Team in Shifts.
You would have to move those people in the Team itself first. Since it replicates what it sees in your Teams groups, you can't change those things inside Shifts before changing it in the Team itself.
I find I love the desktop features but if I add notes into the shift and want to print it does not give me that option to show the notes for my staff team of specific details if I wanted to post it or hand each person
If you are in Shifts, click on the three dots in the top right corner. Click "export schedule" and select the date range you'd like. In this excel spreadsheet that it sends to your computer "Downloads", it should have a tab titled "Day Notes". Let me know if this was what you were looking for. Thanks! -Kaleigh
You should be able to hover over their name - click the three dots next to their name - click "remove from group" You can also remove them from the attached Team in the "Teams" section to make it to where they can't view or have access to it at all.
Im not sure if Im posing the right question for Ms Shifts in specific, but does this app or any other app in MS have a feature to broadcast within the team members as to who is currently on break or not ?
I haven't found a way to do this yet. The only way I could see the breaks was from the time sheet and not a live broadcast. I will keep you updated if I do discover something. -Kaleigh
I have two separate teams that I manage, but I would like them to both be on one Shifts group, where they can offer to swap, and ask for time off. Can I do that?
Great question. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you'd have to make separate schedule for the different time zones. Then you could set a different time zone to it. How you make a new schedule is you go to the main shifts screen - click on the hamburger (three lines) in the top left corner - click New Schedule - and tie it to another team
Hey Mark, this is for corporate collaboration so I don't believe they are available in an individual license. You'd need to purchase a business license.
If it has already past, you can do it by pressing the top right icon when you're in Shifts on your phone. Why do they have it for phone and not desktop? I have NO idea.
I unfortunately have only been able to do this on the mobile version of Teams Shifts. Kind of dumb, but you can edit and approve your time entries from there. I'll let you know if that changes. -Kaleigh
First, make sure you are a Owner on that Team. Then, you can click the drop down arrow next to "Check In" and select "Export Time Sheet". Select the time frame and export. -Kaleigh
