Yeah but how do you change it to the traditional cruise control? I have a telluride and it starts slowing down way before the car is coming up so I’m constantly hitting the accelerator pedal to go around people after it starts slowing down instead of just seamlessly going around them
You can't move into regular cruise control, only adaptive. Use the shortest distance and like you're already doing.. just press the accelerator when you find it braking prematurely
@@CarsWithSteveit’s really annoying that you cannot do that anymore. Every time a car in front of me slows down my “smart” cruise control hits the brakes. It’s also pretty annoying for the cars behind me to see me brake constantly.
Could be a few things.. If you're parked you won't be able to toggle on smart cruise, so you'll get that message instead. If you're driving and get that message, the camera behind the rearview mirror facing forward over the hood might be blocked. Try being in drive and rolling a bit to toggle the system on, run the windshield wipers to make sure that camera is clear or try a start/stop cycle
The lane assist in some higher trims/models is smarter for sure but it's meant more of an assist system compared to full self driving. Kia isn't there yet ;) How are you enjoying the Forte otherwise?
@@CarsWithSteve Love the Forte! At 15,000 miles no issues. No dealer mark up like Toyota and Honda in 2022. I would buy another next time. Thank you for your videos Steve!
@@CarsWithStevejust bought the 2025 carnival in it almost drives itself like you can go around curves and everything on the highway and it just follows it. I just barely touching the steering wheel I actually have left my hands off the wheel for like a minute for it told me to put my hands back on
