How To use Sonar To Quickly Locate Crappie.
In this crappie fishing video I go to a new lake to try to locate some summer crappie. I was given a fishing tip about the crappie in this lake. I try to locate a rock bar using my 2d sonar that is holding these crappie.
sonar can be very effective for 2 things... finding structure and finding fish. when you use your sonar to find fish, in this video crappie you actually know the fish are there giving you a huge advantage.

Hey Dan awesome video but the way! Guestion, how can a determine the fall rate of a jig or whatever I'm using? Thank you for any help! Marty

well I can tell you a 1/8th oz jig with live bait fall about 1 foot per second, so you can count it down to the depth you want to fish... its a little more than a second the lighter you go...

Awesome video again Dan. Would you consider shooting a crappie search video on one of the Wisconsin river flowages? I live a block from Dubay and have been having trouble finding crappie consistently. All sand and wood. Thanks Dan!

@@dominatefishing9641 for sure! The invisible original channel runs through. Averaging 15-25'. But every boat uses it like a highway. Mstly shallow and stumpy submerged and partially submerged. All sand/muck bottom. Weeds are almost non existent except maybe some lily pads.

@@daveg2199 If you can get out before the boats I bet there are crappie in the 15-25 main river channel if there are spots with wood...
