Rear Differential Lock option is available only in selected models. In the models with this option, switch is located in the front console adjacent to the cigarette lighter socket (in front of the super select drive mode lever). This switch is labeled as "R/D Lock"
@@magnumllama400 I have seen R/D lock in Exceed Gen-II, GDI Gen-III. Also heard that NW VRX have too. But each model was marketed with different options for different countries to which that was sold... do not have precise info which exact region models have this option. These details are available in sales catalog (unfortunately I don't have one)
@@magnumllama400 I will check with a friend who runs Pajero modification workshop. He might have an idea. I will share if something useful is found. At the moment, I know Exceed used to have this; but not all Exceeds. If you wanna search, first ensure this is Exceed; then further check if it does have R/D Lock.
The first two gears you can move while driving. The low box witch you didn't show you have to be stopped. 2 to 4wd straight forward to 4wd .Next one is right and forward center difflock. Next one push lever down and forward low box with all locks on. Most rear diffs are limited slip deffs but some have difflock. Button will be in center control forward of gearstick
can you please do a video about how this automatic transmission work. my vehicle dont shift gears properly. there is a kickdown cable and a obd connecter can you please do a video explaining how to diagnose these problems on this 4m40 auto gearbox
Nice video, I had to put my ‘94 Delica l400 in 4 low yesterday to get out of some sand on a crazy long rural driveway.. I was stuck in RWD.. soon as I put it in 4 I got out out so quick lol.. question, so I could leave it in 4 hi and drive on paved roads, I just have to stay under 60 mph?
Yes absolutely 4H is fine on paved roads. If there's no need then always go for 2H just for fuel economy but if you want to move abit quicker or on hills , rain etc including DRY roads 4WH is perfect and stay under 60 you manual will confirm this. Happy 4 wheeling!
Hi I believe they have "Easy Select" which means you cannot use the 4H On the main road unless covered in snow , extreme flooding or if your offroad. The easy select has 2H , 4H and 4HL
Can you drive in 4 low gears if you are on concrete steep road??? There is a steep concrete road in front of my rental place and I heard that in 4 low you might not want to be driving if not on dirt road?????
Please see the below taken from the owners club This switch, adjacent to the automatic shift lever, allows the driver to choose the gear range as appropriate. There are three positions, POWER, AUTO and HOLD. POWER: when switched on, the POWER light will show on the dash. In normal driving, with the shift lever in D, the power mode will operate through the full range of gears 1 to 3 plus overdrive when active. In 2, the power mode will only operate through 1 to 2, and in L, the power mode will only operate on the first gear. AUTO: In auto mode, the transmission will automatically change between POWER and ECONOMY modes as driving conditions define, changing to POWER mode for example when starting a hill ascent. HOLD: The HOLD light will show on the dash. The transmission will operate in ECONOMY mode through the full range of selected gears, not changing any higher than the selected gear, for example if you have selected L, the transmission will not change up to 2
@@CONNER3497 yeah i thought that but the top green lights keep flashing with 1 solid green light at the bottom were it should have 2 and them top 1s should go off when driving and its seems slower?
💥💪one of the best transfer box ( oldschool ) ever made super select ...the others ( just dream about it ) it s vascoclutch sistem thats why you can change during your drive i had it on my gen 3 pajero too
Hello! Great video, thank you! Have the Pajero classic with super select. The 2h to 4h works when stationary but on the move it makes a grinding noise when i try to engane, so i always come back to 2h. Any idea what that could be? Can´t find the answer anywhere.
Hello here. Just discovered that after driving for a short distance the Auxiliary indicator comes on and the vehicle automatically becomes lazy. How to handle this
Sometimes it does this its a common error it will be ok , as long as the light goes solid eventually when engaging 4x4. These are 30 year old trucks now
great video! question, so you can't shift to 4HLc & 4LLc while moving or driving? it has to be on stop? either from 4H to 4HLc or any of the 4 options?
@@CONNER3497 got the info already. it's only when you select low range like 4LLc that you need to stop. but from 2w to 4HLc is fine. Thanks for responding right away! drive safe!
@@willtaylor5901 dude I'm not majorly mechanically minded. I'd say maybe its an issue with the tranfer box , make sure it still has oil and stuff failing that get it to a garage
All 4 anything past 2L is all 4 wheels dont use anything other than 4L on normal roads 4L can be used on everything including dusty , snowy wet or dry roads. For really serious stuff use the low range gears ⚙
Thanks for the gr8 video i was a fan of this jeep and i just purchased one.. its very useful video i spent ages withthe four wheel gear... thanks.. quick question.. my gear lever is on most rear position feom where u started.. but the two above wheels in dash keeps flashing forever can it be wiring ?
Don't worry about this. Majority of vehicles of this model do the same... front wheels blinking come and go by itself. Being in use for years, pressure sensors in the gearbox (responsible for controlling 4x4 indicator) are not "so sensitive" anymore and sometimes do not switch their position according the selected drive mode. This does not affect the drive however might be a bit tricky to determine in which drive mode vehicle actually is. But if you are driving this vehicle for significant period, this is not just 4x4 indicator which tells you which drive mode is selected. You can determine this by the behavior and drive of your vehicle ... btw mine is Pajero Exceed 2.8 1996 and its 4x4 indicator does the same, so don't worry... you are not alone :)
Thats all explained in the video if you watch it. Press down on the gearstick and push in the direction it says 4L is. Sometimes its on the right or left depends on if automatic or Manuel.
Hi i just bought a 02 i0. Am i wrong , as i move the level from 2 forward to constant 4. Then push down then forward right is that 4 high as that works but i can't seem to get 4 low on left or is it not like a nirmal pajero. Does the button on main gear stuck for 3rd gear need to be off for 4 low.
This is "Rear Window Wiper and Washer Switch". Please note that Pajero/Montero/Shogun has different versions marketed in the different part of the world. Some options are available in a certain version but missing in another. If you have this control in your model, button has three positions with "OFF position in the middle. upside pressed = position1 which is to operate rear wiper. Downside pressed = position2 which is for intermittent wiper operation (note that rear wiper speed is not adjustable unlike front wiper which has adjustable speed in intermittent mode). Washer is operated once while pressing the button. Washer fluid bottle is located in the rear door (you can see a round lid almost in the middle of interior side of the door)
