Mee name's Allen Hart. So we've got the leading man from Testo to tell us all about it. So, would you like to introduce yourself? Hi, John Bawden, Product Manager from Testo. Today, we will look at the Testo 300 flue gas analyser and some of its functionality. So, let's get started. Switch on the side, the screen's lit, and we're ready. So, the first thing to talk about is connecting the flue gas probe because it obviously needs sampled from the flue. The connector on the Testo is slightly different from others on the market. It's a single connector, so basically, it's just to line up the arrow on the device, connect, and unlock it. That's bringing the gas pathway straight down. Obviously, you've got to put the flue probe in the flue, too. So we'll put that on the boiler. Just before you do that, tell us about the end. Yeah, no problem. Because that's different.
Yeah, the primary filter on the Testo is at the end, so it's a quick-change filter. Basically, you can take that out. If it's wet or moist, it can be air-dried. If it's an oil-fired appliance, it gets sooty. Chug it away and get a new one. How often do you need to change them? It depends on how much you're using it and the type of appliances you use it on. Right, okay. So we're good to go now. Obviously, loosen the cone off up on top of the boiler, test point,(...) put the code in, and then we're looking probably for about half the way depth into the flue and just lock off on the cone. So we're now ready when we order will be fired up. We will sample the gases into the instrument through the pump and sensors. When we're doing a flue gas analyser test, we ensure we put the probe in the correct position.
What I see, I have a lot of trainees that come with me, and often they'll tilt it downwards, and it can actually suck in the water from the inner flue. So it's essential that we locate that, and we don't want to be sucking water into the... Absolutely, you've always got that danger. If you put the probe in too far, it's going to pick up the pools of condensate and suck them straight into the instrument. Absolutely correct. Right, okay.
