If I'm interested in purchasing a free-standing heavy bag, as opposed to one bolted to the ceiling, is this a viable option for this kind of exercise. A free-standing bag would be easier for me to set up, but I SURE don't want to do that if it'll end up being a total waste of money! I'd just go through the trouble of bolting the bag to the ceiling.

Great tip!! Can you make a video on different types of heavy bags and which strikes are recommended for each type of bag?

I also like to miss it on purpose at times to both train correct distance and to make myself aware of missing the first shot and continuing to finish the combo. Many of my students will stop if they miss and I want to train them to complete the sequence.

Yes that's a very good point and a good thing to consider when training. Thanks for mentioning it!

I see young promising fighter. Very helpful tips! Good luck with upcoming fights. Just one advice: watchout telegraphing hook, jab and cross. It creates bad habit. But still one of the best channels on youtube. Keep up the good work :)

Ok watch your chin way to exposed as you see sparing with Kru. I see you score a lot counter low kicks. Would be good to see you leaning more on weight behind head strikes it's just that you are a bit straight up when soaring but when on bag work you lean on more. Also watch out street your groin is heavily exposed normal as rules. Watch that chin. Didn't see you doing many any upercutts. Roller punches like Nick Diaz would help you breaks timing. Also recommend you practice low steep foot jab opponents front especially and rear mainly front to break his moving in timing then your good low kick again watch that chin. Keep one glove close to chin or other measure or elbow etch cross covering ribd other arm you lose slight power but protect protect. Nice techniques on bag. I would like to see you use my forearm shove strike bag great set up off balancer for your good low kick. Also used in combo low shin foot steep parry foot jab. One final thing is the front or back chamber leg up and Arab with heel of foot to attackers thigh with heel to wear them down trust.

When doing the clinch knees (point eight) make sure to target the knees a bit higher than you're comfortable with. In your example you were kneeing in groin height not at the belly button. If this height is cemented in practice you WILL knee there in a fight too, especially when you're gassing. The result may be everything from point deduction to flat out discualification.
@agentsmith6570
@agentsmith6570 6 лет назад
in general those are just cardio knees (the way he´s doing it) you wont really knee like that in the clinch. also your point is correct too.
@petercarlson811
@petercarlson811 6 лет назад
Yup it is more of a cardio excercise but should still be performed with the knees hitting at the correct height. A majority of fighters are sloppy with this if you look closer during practice. But if you have your opponent in a tight lock you can very well throw knees like this during a fight too. One, they're really effective, and two, it scores very well.
