Thank you for this video. I figured there was a way to use these in combo but never knew how. Also, thank you for starting the video out of the box vs listening to and abundance of fluff. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! Your lasso video actually had the info. I was looking for instead of just going on and on and way too fast without actually showing things and what buttons you're pushing. The delete key to remove anchor points was a game changer for me too!
Thank you for this! You have a natural gift for teaching very consise and your tone of voice and speed is nice to listen to. I am recently doing GD course and sometimes I just get so overwhelmed I loose focus lol. So I practice in my own time where it’s more relaxed & your videos help me a lot. Thank you again 💯💯💯💯
Wow! Clear, concise and to the point and well explained with simple examples. You have the gift of teaching and you can teach anything. I was desperately looking for a quick explanation of the Magnetic Lasso Tool and was able to learn here precisely what I needed. Thank you, thank you and thank you for doing what you do.
Hey Brendan, just subscribed to your channel! Truly, this is one of the finest tutorials I have ever watched for PS. You are an outstanding teacher, and I hope you ejoy teaching as much as I enjoyed learning from you. Keep up the great work!!! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. Kind regards, John
I am trying to use the magnetic tool, and while selecting, switch to the polog tool by pressing the option key and it's not switching. (using 2 tools while selecting one object). I am on a Mac... thank you! Great video....
Hello Brendan, your explanation is very useful for me who is still a beginner in using photoshop, what I want to ask about the magnetic lasso tool is why the first point of the magnetic lasso tool suddenly connected directly to the last point I marked even though I had not finished using the magnetic lasso tool. . finally I have to start over again from the beginning of the magnetic lasso tool point.. it happens so often and is very annoying
Sorry i can't hear english fluently, so can you explain that in 12:40 what do you do to tranfer from magnetic to polygol lasso tool and the same with the lasso tool. Thank you so much for great video.
I don’t see the Add to Layer Mask option and also my trash can icon disappeared and looks like the right side of the screen is missing some but when I move it over it just extends the whole right side and still doesn’t show the trash can. Trash can was there cuz been using it
Hi . I tried based on the tutorial in my photoshop cs5, but once selected the required portion using lasso tool, and then I clicked layer option which is bottom right corner, only the portion that is selected by lasso tool got erased, not the rest as per shown by your tutorial.. Why?
My friends are out here using layer channels, blend if/ rasterise option, getting a PhD nowadays to cut out images in photoshop when back in the day a lasso tool and the soft brush was all you needed I need to show them this!
im a complete newbie, i just strted today, i keep on losing the original lasso of the photo that im trying to cut out everytime that i click on something
when i try to refine my selection it always makes these random circles not connected to my main selection. what am i doing wrong bc its driving me crazy.
Make sure the selection option in the upper options bar are correct. It should be set to add to selection or subtract from selection instead of “new selection”. Hope that helps.
There is a path selection tool in Photoshop. I believe the shortcut is A to access that. That tool lets you manually click on any anchor points made on a path.
He says adding to a layer mask and clicks something at the bottom but all I see is fill layer and vector mask which either don’t work. You ever figure it out?
I'm trying to watch this on a tablet and you didn't zoom into ancor point at all. cannot see what you're talking a bout when describing the tools behavior
I wonder if all these channel are made to confuse people. still trying to find how to remove the background of image, they all avoid it. is this all on purpose ?
I am not sure what you mean. I show how you can cut out an image from the background in this video. You need to make a selection of what you want to keep, then add a layer mask to remove the background.
I do this and then photoshop tells me since 50% of pixels aren't selected the selection won't be visible and then erases the last 30 minutes of work spent tracing the object what the fuck
Bro if u would like a suggestion, don't explain the importance of origination of all tools, rather just say how to do it... Cause 90% of the audience is not here to master Photoshop, but to only get the work done
You started off explaining the basic steps of the lasso tool which is great because you're covering the basics for new comers. But then when it got to the most important step - the execution (the cropping), you rushed through it in 2 milliseconds. Seems like you've forgotten about the new comers at this point.
This doesn't work. Any method is photoshop still retains a white background. Try putting your photo on a different colour background. It only works if you save as a PSD or PNG and they are super low quality. I'm surprised that guy that made the video didn't tell you that. It is a complete waste of time.
you didn't explain how to cut out an image using the magnetic lasso tool. you only showed to change the background color. I just wanted part of my image. waste of time watching this
I did actually, once the selection is made, click the layer mask icon and the background (or outside of the selection) will be removed so you can use just your selected area in another project.
