@Saba Omer The odor of Azelaic Acid is due to its chemical structure, which contains a carboxylic acid group. This group can produce a slightly sour or acidic odor that can be noticeable, particularly when the product is first opened. The scent can be stronger in some batches of the product, but it is generally mild and should dissipate after the product has been absorbed into the skin. The smell is not an indication that the product is expired or has gone bad.
You literally saved my life, I’ve been looking for 1 hour and non of the videos or articles mentioned the products i wanted to use and then boom i found your video. Thank you
Thanks so much Melissa, you've been helpful in how to apply this stuff for newbies like me. I'm a dude and it all works perfectly for me (the ordinary stuff)
This video was SO helpful! Especially the conflicts. I also use the glycolic acid toner so it was really good that you explained how to be able to use both. It was also great that you told us which order to use things in and how to apply! Absolutely brilliant video!!!!
As for me I prefer the simpler way .. moisturiser and azelaic acid in the pm to avoid irritation from other products .. in the am some by mi vitamin c serum, moisturiser and suncreen. The simpler the better n safe... love your content .
I literally have watched your all videos and love them all they way you explain briefly is just soo good. You are my dermatologist istg I trust u blindly
I finally decided to try azelaic acid to treat my face redness, and while waiting for the product delivery, i am unsure if i can add a vitamin C serum from l'oreal paris to my routine. So my routine is: AM: cerave hydrating cleanser HA serum Niacinamide serum Alpha arbutin Squalane oil + HA moisturizer PM: cerave hydrating cleanser Glycolic acid toner HA serum Niacinamide serum Alpha arbutin retinol 1% So i know from your previous videos that i can't mix vitamin C with glycolic acid, niacinamide and retinol, so i am considering using in the morning by removing niacinamide, the vitaminc C serum is l'Oreal paris REVITALIFT 10% PURE VITAMINE C CONCENTRATE. The main reason for trying that is my friend used it and told me it helps with skin brighting and redness and he didn;t need it anymore so gave me his stock left. I am not sure how i can find out if it is a water serum or something else so i can figure out where to add it. When i will start using the azelaic acid, i will add it right after the application of Alpha arbutin. I also saw in your videos that sometimes you alternate products let's say like niacinamide, instead of using it AM and PM, you start using it only AM, does that like slow the results of the product? I know i am using too many products I am also aware that it is not an ordinary related question, but i am wondering if you know or have an idea about it? by the way u're so beautiful
Hey😊 Ok, so for Azelaic Acid, I recommend using it only once per day (there are apparently no benefits of using it twice per day - I’ve read that in a study.) I also recommend using Azelaic Acid in the Morning after your oil and moisturiser. I have a question for you, do you really feel the need of using the oil + moisturiser? - just curious haha😅 To answer your question about the benefits of using Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin once or twice per day…I’m not sure…if it plays a big role when using it twice daily or if it still gives you the same effects when using it only once per day…I haven’t tried it - which is also difficult to try in some ways haha😅 I also love that my AM routine is different to my PM routine so that I can target multiple concerns without using too much! - but that’s personal preference😊 May I change your routine a bit😅 AM: - cerave hydrating cleanser - HA serum - Alpha arbutin - Vitamin C - (Optional) Squalane oil - (Optional) HA moisturizer - Azelaic Acid PM: - cerave hydrating cleanser - Glycolic acid toner - HA serum - Niacinamide serum - retinol 1% Honestly, this routine would be a bit too much for me but you have to try it😅 You can use Glycolic Acid with Vitamin C or Retinol, or Niacinamide. Just make sure to slowly introduce them into your routine especially with Vitamin C or Retinol😊
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I don't know sometimes i just like putting a lot of products haha even if it won't add anything, probably because i've had acne for years so i am kind of using anything...tbh i think this is helping my acne, i had some purges first 2 weeks, but now i only have 1or 2 pimples left (hope it's working and not just temporarily) I guess i should start alternating oil and moisturizer? or just use them from time to time when i feel my skin a little bit dry, or just in the evening. Well i am open to any suggestion since i have no idea how products exactly work😅, so i will try the way u described it. I don't go out much since all courses are online and i can pretty much order all my groceries online, but i still need a sunscreen and after doing a small research yesterday i was so confused, so many different reviews for so many products. I want something cheap that doesn't do anything but protection and not harsh on the skin ( like for sensitive skin). Do you have any recommendations?
@@enjoymusic325 Well, I'm happy for you that you could clear up your skin so well!🥳If you only have a couple of pimples left, one thing that I can recommend is using a Benzoyl Peroxide cream on those and that's it! - I use it myself as I still can get a few pimples here and there and this works great so far! It's not wrong to use an oil + moisturiser together - don't get me wrong! You can go with it if you like to! Or use a moisturiser in the AM and an oil in the PM - that works great as well! For sunscreen I like the La Roche Posay ANTHELIOS ULTRA-LIGHT INVISIBLE FLUID SPF30 however, if you're staying at home, there is no need to wear sunscreen only when being exposed to the sun for like several hours to protect the skin from getting sunburned haha😅
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial An update for anyone going through my comments: I just found out that my redness is pretty much caused by over-exfoliating and i been doing it for while😅 , i didn't know such thing exists. Anyway so i stopped all forms of active ingredients, now i am only hydrating and using anit-inflammatory products and my skin starting to heal. My routine was so ambitious i guess... i will reintroduce exfoliates when my skin is 100% healed and use prob no more than once or twice a week, i learned my lesson.
@@enjoymusic325 As long as you listen to your skin and you know what was causing it and you stopped using it - everything is fine! Adding only hydration to the skin is a great start to get back to normal! Again, don't use too much 😅
No wonder why I feel a little bit weird when I applied the azelaic because I used the glycolic toner first in my routine 😅 I should have watch this earlier! Btw Thank you so much! You're videos really helped me💛
Thanks for the video, especially the conflict explanations. I'm a skincare novice and your directions helped forming a suitable routine ☺️ I wanted to ask about the storage conditions of this azelaic acid suspension, do we keep it at room temperature or in the refrigerator at 4°C ? Thanks again ❤️
Thank you so much for this vid I literally would have damaged my skin if it wasn’t for the vid I didn’t know you had to put niamicide before azelic acid I was wondering why my skin was burning
I'm glad that I could help you. The general rule of thumb for order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Creams & suspensions Important: If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first), And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing. And a maximum of three serum formulations in a single regimen
@@arishukur5193 It's a personal preference. No, you do not have to. But it's a great combination. Do you know the brand Facetheory? They do over a serum with both. You can find it down below: eu.facetheory.com/products/porebright-serum-n20?_pos=1&_sid=9be31fb2e&_ss=r
@@sungirl765 Hey😊 Yeah, some people don't like the texture of Azelaic Acid and how it spread, strangely enough, I like it a lot😅 But yes, Facetheory has one with both and it's a serum not a cream. I'm well thank you, hope you too!🥰
I just ADORE your videos and thank God for your valuable time, advices and aid when answering. Greetings from Honduras. Can I use retinol and Azelaic PM in my PM routine? If so, how do i layer them?
Thank you 😀 I do not recommend using Retinol with Azelaic Acid to avoid skin irritation. I recommend using Azelaic Acid in the morning and the retinol in the evening. But technically, you can use both in the same routine; yes, they do not have any crossreactivity in case you have meant that. Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
I've been using tretinoin & azelaic acid for 3 months now. My skin has never looked better. I alternate them, I use tretinoin on one night then azelaic acid the next night. Make sure your skin is v moisturized ! 🥰
You can use them in the same routine if your skin can tolerate it. However, keep them separate and/or use Glycolic Acid less often if sensitivity occurs.
Sharing my night routine with Azelaic acid : 1. AHA BHA cleanser (hadalabo) 2. Very simple, light and gentle hydrating toner (naturie hatomugi) 3. Azelaic acid (the ordinary) 4. Lightweight moisturiser (avene) Notes: i use this general flow for my lactic acid serum too. The toner helps the acid absorb better in my experience. Super simple & i also double cleanse with an oil cleanser once a day.
Your skin looks so good! 💗 I' m a red face girl (having rosacea) and I used AA today for the first time. Hope it 'll make some difference.. We''ll see how it goes 😭
Hey so I just recently bought a few the ordinary products and I want to make sure I use them effectively! Niacinamide Azeliac acid suspension Hyaluronic acid The peeling solution The toning solution I have a few other products From different brands to cleanse and moisturize! Thank you!!
Hello, 😀 Here is the information that you need to figure out your skincare routine. The general rule of thumb for order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Creams & suspensions Important: If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first) And a maximum of three serum formulations in a single regimen The Peeling Solution (Water-based, Direct acid, can only be used 1-2 times a week in the evening) The Toning Solution (Water-based, Direct acid, should be used in the evening) Niacinamide ( Water-based serum) Hyaluronic Acid (Water-based serum) Azelaic Acid Suspension (Suspension) Direct acids can’t be used in the same routine. Try to figure out the routines for Am and Pm and let me know, and I will make sure that you have the correct order. 😀
Melissa Van Dijk AM- cleanser, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid?? Or Azelaic acid? (Can I use those two in the same routine? ), moisturizer, sun screen! PM- cleanser, toning solution, moisturizer (In your opinion which water based serum do you suggest to use at night?)
It's was as simple as that. 😆 And yes, you can use them in the same routine. Or add the hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in the evening; it does not matter. Try what works best for you. Just be careful when using multiple acids, vitamin c, and retinoids together! (But you don't have any Vitamin C and Retinoids.) But it case you want to add some, it gets a bit more complicated.
thanks so much for this! I've been binge-watching your videos and have learned A LOT!! I just wanted to ask if it's okay to use this in the AM with the Ascorbic acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%? :)
Hey Melissa! Love your content. Yesterday I ordered it so can not way to try it out tomorrow(after patch test). I have a very simple routine, I am using La Roche Posay foam cleanser for sensitive skin and LRP toleriane moisturizer am and pm and every other day niacinamide pm (as per your suggestion) and I really see big difference after I started using niacinamide(It reduces severity of acne and sizes of pores, and overall my skin looks more glowy and even the postredness of acne are fading but still there-ringbell that I need an AE. My concern is how to input azelaic acid into my skin routine, am or pm, once a week or more often? Thank you in advance! Best regards xx
Hello 😀 Great❤️, There is no right and wrong. You have to see what works best for your skin. But Azelaic Acid is pretty gentle; you can use it on a daily base. I recommend using it only once a day and probably skip the moisturizer. It goes on as the last step.
@@Randa210Hey I have changed my routine, I’ve been using BIODERMA Sensibio gel wash, Azelaic acid 20% and tretinoin 0,05% for about 9 months and I can see great improvement. It is a slow process, but it is definitely worth. I don’t have huge cystic acne on chin anymore, however my skin is not completely clear neither.
Hello Ms. Melissa. I hope you are doing well. Thank you for your valuable posts. Couldn you please tell how can we differentiate fake and or original one of Ordinary product is Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%? I have ordered today but I am concerned about its quality.
Hi Melissa, thankyou for your clear and helpful video. I have an acne prone + dry skin since my firat breakout, when i was 15 and now i already 23. Last month i started using totally a new product for me. My acne getting small slowly but sometimes it keeps appear again, so i was wondering whether its normal for me or not. My current skincare routine right now is: AM & PM Cleanser: Cosrx salicylic acid gentle daily cleanser Toner: Hada labo hydrating rich lotion Mosturizer: Azelaic acid suspension Sunscreen: Biore uv aqua rich watery essence (I just exclude sunscreen for my night skincare routine). Hope you can help me 🙏
Hey! :) You can only treat acne with specific products so, that it will go away faster and to reduce acne flare-ups, but there isn't a cure. Unless you would know what's triggering your acne and you can change it. So, it's normal. Your routine looks good! :)
Can I use Alpha Arbutin 2%+HA with this product (Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%)?? Also how these two product compare in your opinion? Thank you for the amazing video! 🍀
Yes, you can use them together. Hm, well I have tried Azelaic Acid for a while, and I couldn't see much of a difference. I haven't used Alpha Arbutin long enough to make a comparison. So I don't really know for sure. The deciem website is wrong. My dermatologist gave me finacea (prescription azalaic acid) and you can use it with antioxidants. It may cause irritation in someone with sensitive skin if used with exfoliating acids but they can be used together. In fact my derm said you can use it with most ingredients which I have with no issues and great results.
Hey, 😀 it's not, and you gave yourself the answer... "It may irritate someone with sensitive skin if used with exfoliating acids but can also be used together." "you can use it with most ingredients, which I have with no issues and great results." The products mentioned by Deciem are likely to irritate the skin when used in combination, and that's why it's not recommended. You have to think about it a bit; differently, you got the product from a physician. (prescription) These products are available over the counter, some of them have very similar formulations some are even better than the once in the pharmacy. It's just a different industry that is competing... This also means that everyone can buy it etc. And not everyone is a skin expert, so most people don't know what skin type they have; others can't afford healthcare, etc. It's not helping anyone when I say that this could possibly be used together. They will see good results and are unlikely to get some irritation. ❤️
Hello Melissa, thank you for this informative video. I have been following your advice & recommendations on skin care and it has helped me alot. My daughter is 17 and she gets mild acne breakouts frequently. I would appreciate it if you could kindly suggest a skin care routine for her. She has combination skin, thank you

Hi!! Thank you so much for this video, it was really helpful!! I do have a question though, would it be okay/safe to use the Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% after using a Leave-on Salicylic Acid Exfoliant (Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfloiant)?
Hey, well yes, have a look at this: www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/skincare-advice/basic-skin-care-tips/azelaic-acid-for-skin.html www.paulaschoice.de/en/all-about-exfoliants
Hello Melissa! Thank you so much for your videos!! I’ve bought alpha alburtin and niacinamide serums and I’ve been using those for a month. Had some trouble in the beginning but now my skin looks much more clean and bright, my acne scars are fading away tho I can’t say they’re completely gone. Do you think that adding this product to my skin care would help me with the scars or I should try another one? Also I have some blackheads on my nose and open pores, do you have any advice for those? Thank you so much!!
Hello Ana, Blackheads are incredibly difficult to treat with topical products. It's best to visit a professional for this. But apart from that, adding the azelaic acid can help with dark spots or generally with skin pigmentation issues. So the combination can work very well. The only issue with it is that it sometimes causes pilling, but if that happens, space the products a bit apart (2-5minutes)
Hey Melissa, thank you for this helpful video. If I understand correctly I don’t need to add my evening moisturizer after the Azelaic Acid Suspension? Or would you still recommend doing that?
This depends if you have dry skin, or generally if you feel the need. Or if you have irritation when using Azelaic Acid. :) I recommend watching the following video: The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% Before or After Moisturizer? (Itchy face - Tingling): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eA6X5fRmBpY.html
Hello, I so enjoy your videos, no ‘fluff’ just straight information. Could you please tell me why Azelaic Acid conflicts with peptides, specifically buffet and matrixyl I know buffer contains matrixyl 🙂). Thank you.
Hi Melissa! I really love your videos :D I have a question about my routine and wanna know what you think is the best? I suffer from blackheads, red skin, scars and sometimes bigger acne spots. So after watching a lot of videos I think there are 2 options. 1 = cleanser, toner, lactic acid 10%, niacinamide 10% + zinc 1%, Hyaluronic acid 2% + b5, moisturizer 2= cleanser, toner, niacinamide 10% + zinc 1%, Hyaluronic acid 2% + b5, (in the evening azelaic acid suspension 10%), moisturizer Which one you think is better to use? Also is it possible to use the caffeine solution 5% + EGCG in both of the routines or is it too much? If it is possible, when should I use it?
Have you already bought those products? Otherwise, I recommend have a look at a BHA exfoliant (for example from Paula's Choice) and I prefer the Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid over the Ordinary one. But yeah, you can add Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide to your routine as well. The caffeine Solution is going to be applied after toning or exfoliating😊
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you for the answer! So what do you think about: Cleanser, toner, BHA exfoliant , niacinamide 10% + zinc 1%, Hyaluronic acid 2% + b5, moisturizer? And can I use the BHA exfoliant every day, and twice or only in the morning/evening?
Yes, correct and don't forget your Caffeine Solution which you can use after the BHA. I recommend using it once per day every other day and see how your skin responds before using it more often. It can be used once or twice per day daily, but start slowly. Use this routine for a while before trying out anything else as there are a few lightening ingredients, Niacinamide is one of them😊 Edit: I still would add Azelaic Acid to your routine as well🙈
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thanks again! But will this be not too much? Cleanser, toner, BHA exfoliant, caffeine solution , niacinamide 10% + zinc 1%, Hyaluronic acid 2% + b5, Azelaic Acid, moisturizer? There are 8 different things then?
i currently use niacinamide, hyaluronic, and azelaic from the ordinary. is using them in that order okay? also how often. should you use them, morning and night/once a day/once every other day
The order is correct😊well you can use all of them daily in the morning and/or evening. How do you use them currently? only in the morning? if so, how does your skin feel?😊Also, do you want to have an AM and PM routine or only using it once per day?
Yes it can :). That's up to you, you can use it before or after. The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% Before or After Moisturizer?: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eA6X5fRmBpY.html
Just commenting for the algorithm. 🌹🌹 You've came up twice for me now in the last couple of weeks, hate that I do believe I forgot to engage with your other one on an 'Ordinary' product because I wasn't subbed until just now, and you've got the simplest and most straight forward, helpful way of presenting these products that is exactly what we're all, probably, lookin' for. It is very much appreciated, darlin'! ✨ 😽😽 Hhmmm, I've actually never added anything or used anything that had potential conflicts like this one has mentioned.. as I use an anti-aging serum with matrixyl, argireline and peptides around my eyes and pull it out towards where my crows feet would be, just the tiny overlap of the azelaic around my temples shouldn't cause too much irritation, I'd think, but would you know of the potential irritants of that, though? 😬🤔
Hey! :) Thank you for watching and supporting my videos!💕 I'm happy to hear that you enjoy my videos and find them helpful! Well, the Ordinary gives specific directions with what you can pair their products to get the most out of it. For example, Azelaic Acid and/or Exfoliating Acids like AHA = Glycolic, Lactic or Mandelic Acid and BHA = Salicylic Acid can conflict with Peptides. It does not cause irritation, but it can break down the Peptides into Amino Acids. That's why the Ordinary recommends not using them together. This is not the case with all kinds of Peptides but, it can interfere with some. However, to understand this a bit better, you would need to ask a chemist why that's the case😅
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial hahha, that's always my downfall, when we get down to the nitty gritty science side of skincare. 😬😹 Really appreciate your response, and truly, so glad I've found your channel!
Thank you for always explaining... I'm new to The Ordinary and I have concern. I know that The Ordinary mentioned that it should not combine with other strong acids... but other sites mention that it should be fine to use Lactic Acid with Azelaic - which I did for a week already... Which visibly lighten my post acne. But I'm a worried on this as well, especially that i'm starting to change my 'alternate' routines. Should I alternate my acids including this Azelaic? AM: Niacinamide + Az PM: Lactic Acid (SuMoWeThFr) / AHA BHA (Tu) / Salicylic (Sa) - (Alternate) + Niacinamide
Hey :) You are fine to use Azelaic acid with Lactic Acid! I will upload a video today about the Ordinary Acids, so make sure to check that one out since I'm going through this as well :)
Is it okay to use the azelaic acid every single day or would that be too harsh for the skin? And do you use a moisturizer after or before the application of azelaic acid?
The general rule of thumb for the order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Creams & suspensions So it would be applied after your moisturizer. What moisturizer do you use? If you want to introduce it to your skin to see how it is working for your skin, you can start with a patch-test and then slowly add it to your skin, like using it every couple of days and see how it goes and after that, you may want to use it daily. 😊
hi melissa how can i layer ordinary vitamin c suspension with azelaic acid suspension for my stubborn acne marks? pls tell me how to layer since both are like cream based
Hi Melissa! Can I ask if I can use azelaic acid with retinol (pm) and vitamin C (am)? I’m really confused with what to mix and not to mix with each product. Your videos are always so helpful. I was properly introduced to retinol thru your videos 💕💕

hi, I bought the ordinary azelaic acid 10% suspension, and I'm using this routine in the morning: - Cerave Foaming Cleanser - Azelaic acid 10% - Isdin SPF with color And the problem that I'm having is that when I apply the SPF it's starting to take of the azelaic acid. Anyone knows why its happening ???
Hey! Yes, this can sometimes happen because of the Azelaic Acid formulation... How much do you use of it? And you may want to give it a minute in between so that it can set and then at the SPF on top?
Hey :) Depending on how oily you get, you may do not feel the need to use a moisturiser or only use it in areas you are getting a bit drier. Either way, I recommend using your moisturiser before applying Azelaic Acid :)
Hello :) just learning how to incorporate this! Knowing that it can’t be used with peptides, I guess it can’t be used alongside moisturizers/creams with peptides? I just began using the youth to the people adaptogen cream and realized there are peptides in that. Also is this considered a chemical exfoliant? Still figuring out what is best for daily use vs a few times a week! Ty x
Generally speaking, if it has those ingredients, it may be affected. But it won't harm your skin. There is a change that they can neutralize the peptides. Here is what the Ordinary says: Note: We are deeply grateful to our devoted customers for loving us and our products so much. Our lab has and continues to devote countless hours to share the newest innovations with our broader world. The Ordinary now offers a wide range of products under the Vitamin C, Peptide and Direct Acid categories, and to help our ever-growing, loving family of users build functional and effective routines incorporating these products we have developed an introductory guideline into the brand. Previously, we did not have a contraindication listed for the use of direct acids/Vitamin C with any of our peptides. However, we now have a huge arsenal of these products and some of the formulations are more susceptible to hydrolysis with certain types of Vitamin C or acids. Instead of developing a complex guide listing the compatibility of each of our peptides with each acid and Vitamin C, we have adapted the following approach to maximize efficacy for the maximum number of people: It is best to not use Peptides in the same routine as the following products: Direct acids, LAA (L-Ascorbic Acid) and ELAA (Ethylated Ascorbic Acid). In addition, we would recommend avoiding the use of products containing copper peptides in the same routine as strong antioxidants as well as direct acids/LAA/ELAA.
Hi! My current routine consists of Cleansing balm, Marine hyaluronic, Niacinamide, and finally the Squish moisturiser. I want to add in the Azelaic acid to my routine as the final step before moisturising, would this be okay? I was wondering if using both the Azelaic acid and moisturiser could feel heavy on the skin, or if it would absorb nicely?
Yeah, that's a tricky one. It may depend on how much you are using. Or if the formulation is working together. You have to experiment if it's too much; just use them on different days. (Optional) Lactic Acid 5% 3. 1 Level Spoon 100% L- Ascorbic Acid Powder with 4-5 drops Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% I am sure that you will see fantastic results with this routine, but you need to use it consistently(!) for at least 3months! Gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin. With any new formulation, some sensitivity or initial redness can be normal. Initial redness upon application is not a cause for concern if it goes away after a few moments.
My current skincare routine: AM: ☀️ - Cerave SA Cleanser - Azeleic Acid Suspension - Cerave AM Moisturizer wit SPF PM: 🌙 - Cerave SA Cleanser - Glycolic Acid - Niacinamide + Zinc - Alpha Arbutin + HA - Rosehip Oil - Cerave PM Moisturizer Does this fit well? Can I add some more to my AM?
Melissa Van Dijk my skin concerns range from milia on my cheeks and pigment scars all around my face along with just wanting to remove the texture I have on my face :)
I don't think that the routine will give you the results that you want to achieve. You need something like this: AM: SA Cleanser Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (optional 100% Plant-Derived Squalane) SPF PM1: (5 times a week): Cleanser Glycolic Acid 7% Granactive Retinoid Emulsion 2% Borage Seed Oil Pm 2: (once a week) AHA + BHA Moisturizer About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck. It's recommended to avoid unprotected solar exposure. Gradually incorporating one new product into your regimen at a time and applying test patches first to see what works best for your skin. This routine will show results after 8-12weeks. But since you already have so many products just try it. The order of application is correct.
Hi, I’m fairly new to skincare and have been using Azelaic acid in combination with Glycolic acid 7% and a few other products for my night time routine. I’ve been doing this for months with no signs of irritation or anything abnormal. Is this fine or should I stop? Is irritation the only possible consequence?
If you have been doing this now for a month without irritation, keep on going! They do not conflict with one another. However, this combination can sometimes be a bit too strong for some people! :)
hey i love your videos theyre so informative!!! i was wondering if i can mix lactic acid 10%+HA with niacinimide 10%+zinc 1% and the azelaic acid??? im very confused as to how i should layer those three and when to use them? Can you help me?
Hello Anne. That combination may be a bit strong. Since you are using two acids, it can lead to irritation. I recommend using Lactic Acid and Niacinamide in the evening and Azelaic Acid in the morning. Or on alternate days. Hey, so I have a lot of hyperpigmentation in my skin. Would this be beneficial for my skin type? Or is there another ordinary product that you may recommend? Thank you!
The Ordinary has an example routine on their website where it focuses on pigmentation issues, maybe this can help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JKDoD3cSPTo.html I've done a video about it, hope this helps!🥰
Is it okay to use it after my cerave cleanser and before the sa cerave lotion ? So my routine is : Cerave hydrating cleanser Azelaic acid Sa renewing cerave lotion 😊? ( My skin type is : dry skin )
Hey, again it may be best to use the lotion before Azelaic Acid because it includes a lot of Silicon. But try and see what you like the most. The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% Before or After Moisturizer? (Itchy face - Tingling): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eA6X5fRmBpY.html

Can I use the Azelaic Acid suspension as my final moisturizer (as in, no additional moisturizer at all)? Or should I apply moisturizer after? Some people appear to be applying moisturizer first, then finishing off with the Azelaic suspension. I’m not sure what’s the best way to incorporate this product into my routine.
I apply it after the moisturizer. But you don't need a moisturizer at all. So there's no single best way to use it. It's all about experimenting to find out what works best for you and then adjust it based on your skin needs.
