@vallejocolors

This looks a lot different from when I tried to use it. It never cured to a fully transparent state, and when I tried to peel it off again... Let's just say that a lot of bad words were being used... It had bonded so strongly with the model that I had a real fight to get it to peel off. And in the end I just gave up on it and discarded both the masking fluid and the model. I just couldn't get it to peel off, especially in the crevasses where it had bonded as strongly as super glue. If you use it, I would certainly recommend testing it on an old model first. And only use it on flat surfaces.

@vallejocolors
@vallejocolors Год назад
Hello Jake, maybe the lacquer paint can affect the painting and water-based products you used previously so first test the compatibilities, remember to do that not on your model. Once you have finished painting the surrounding area, the masking fluid, a rubbery film, is peeled off. Do not leave the masking fluid on the model for a long time, it will become too dry and difficult to remove.

@vallejocolors
@vallejocolors Год назад
¡Buenos dias Enrique!

How to clen the brush after use?
@vallejocolors
@vallejocolors 3 месяца назад
Hello Demian! Thank you very much for writing to us! 😊 To prevent damage to the bristles, it is recommended to use an old brush when applying liquid mask. This is because once the product dries, it is difficult to remove completely. When done with Liquid Mask and need to clean the brushes, some people use ammonia or acetone to get the remaining product off. But be warned - these chemicals have strong vapors and can harm your bristles, so you should be extra careful when using them. You can also use wooden toothpicks to apply Liquid Mask and discard them if you don't want to use chemicals or your own brushes. Another option: why not try using silicone brushes? They're super handy and make cleaning a breeze - you can simply peel off the dry mask afterward. We hope it helps :)

@tlw4237
@tlw4237 4 года назад
They’re very different things. Chipping mediums (and hairspray) work by letting you remove the top layer of paint. A process which tends to be difficult if you want to create a clearly defined area. Masking fluids let you prevent paint being applied to a particular area in the first place. They do the same job as masking tape but unlike tape can handle masking complex shapes or 3D surfaces..

The plane wing was a failure as the paint seeped under the masking tape, and was then cleaned off Using the liquid mask next to the masking tape on the plane wing seemed pointless as the liquid mask is much more expensive than the masking tape, much easier to just tape the rest of the wing It doesn't make sense to apply liquid mask next to the tape on the wing Just tape the plane wing Why use the more expensive liquid mask next to the tape on the wing?

@tlw4237
@tlw4237 4 года назад
It’s a sensible way to mask things. You get a sharp edge with the masking tape exactly along the line you want, e.g. by applying it butting up to a panel line. The masking fluid is then used to fill the rest of the area that needs to be masked. Then the object can be airbrushed without worrying about over-spray or a lack of accuracy getting paint where it isn’t wanted.
@KylaraKuhn
@KylaraKuhn 3 года назад
@@tlw4237 LOL.. it's a silly way. Use a bit more masking tape and you achieve exactly the same. Graham is right it's a joke. I can imagine that they rather would have showed it on the edges where it might be more difficult to use tape. Thing is... That masking liquid didn't go so well with the canopy. It simply wouldn't stick to it so they decided to use it on the inside where a piece of extra masking tape would have been 10 times easier: There's no waiting for the liquid to dry for 2 hours. Nope.. just continue right away and by the time they waited for the liquid to dry, the ones using extra masking tape would have been finished with it one hour and 45 minutes before they even start to paint.
