This cleanser completely cleared up these little bumps on my forehead 😍 I could never figure out what they were!!! They seemed like irritated pores or clogged or something. But they didn’t respond to acne or fungal acne treatments. I think something must have been causing me persistent irritation there but switching to all vanicream saved my skin.

This is my favorite all-time drugstore cleanser, (and this is just me) and it is like a dupe for the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Cleanser! 🌻🌵💛
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 3 года назад
Hey, I haven't tried the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Cleanser. The Vanicream cleanser is great, but it's not my favorite. I still prefer to use La Roche Posay and Skinceuticals LHA Cleanser. But generally, the cleansers that I have tried over the last four months(CeraVe, Cetaphil, Facetheory, La Roche Posay, The Ordinary, Skinceuticals...) are all great; they all have different strengths; there was not one that I did not like. Also, I figured out that it wasn't the cleanser that broke me out; about a year ago, I thought that it would be CeraVe that breaks me out, but over the last months, I figured out that this wasn't the case. I am still not sure what it was, but the cleansers are working all very well.
@dreaaa810
@dreaaa810 3 года назад
@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I would highly recommend it cause it has the same texture as the Vanicream Cleanser but a bit thicker. Also that stuff goes a long way, it foams up a bit more and also delivers more hydration than the Vanicream. I always wanted to try out the La Roche Posay Hydrating Cleanser, but was not too for sure if it worth it. Do you mostly use basic cleansers for morning and evening? Cause I have tried some of the products that you have mentioned, but I feel that ro more basic and simple the best for my skin! Also I do like those type of cleansers since I am using the Differin Adapalene Gel (for 5 months), and now slowly using the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads (AHA) into my routine once a week (when one night I am not using the Adapalene Gel). I have heard and seen the videos that you talked about your breakouts during that time. Someone said that the reason why people break out from Cerave, cause their skin is not use to the "acids" or the hydrolic acid. Which I find to be odd, cause it could be other ingredients in the Cerave products that some people are breaking out from...or like for me of having hydrolic acid in the first top ingredient list gives me the lil white heads.
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 3 года назад
@@dreaaa810 I guess I have to look into First Aid Beauty a bit more. I have heard of them, seen them but never tried it haha.😅 I haven’t tried the Hydrating cleanser - I guess that it must be similar to the Dermo-Cleanser. The names sometimes change depending on the country… Personally, I prefer foam cleansers or cream to foam cleansers over milk/cream cleansers, but that’s just me! And it doesn’t mean that milk/cream cleansers are bad. It’s just the feeling that I’m referring too.😊 Well, I like to keep it simple but effective…my routines change every day as I’m uploading daily; however, my PM routines are very simple. Suppose I haven’t used any acids like AHA or BHA during the morning for a video. In that case, I prefer to use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Gel Cleanser, then use a serum in between (this varies) and then follow it up with my Benzoyl Peroxide cream or just a moisturizer. But when I plan on using acids, or I’ve used acids, I like to use a gentle cleanser in the evening; otherwise, my skin feels irritated. I always recommend it like this: If you use any kind of AHA or BHA leave-on exfoliators or pads, go with a gentle cleanser. If you do not use any kind of AHA or BHA leave-on exfoliators or pads, you can use a cleanser that includes AHA or BHA…to avoid any irritation. Some people can use AHA and BHA (two different products) on the same day or same routine, but this depends on your skin, and you can only find it out by trying it. - This depends on what else you use (like Retinol or Vitamin C)…and your skin tolerance. Yeah, I still don’t know what it is or was…I’m slowly trying to use the Cerave Cream to Foam cleanser more often to see what happens. So far, I like it🤞🏻 Hyaluronic acid is a sugar. It is not be confused with other acids like salicylic or glycolic acids, which exfoliate away dead skin cells. But yeah, I’ve read some people where they’ve mentioned it as well, but I’m still not sure if it’s really Hyaluronic Acid or something else that’s in it🤔 What product did you try that was causing it?

I had this happen with elf holy hydration (fragrance free) as well. Also got pustules/comedones so I’m really confused on what product in either would cause that?? From what I've learned, use only one exfoliant in your routine..Using paula's choice bha everyday is already too much for the skin (most dermatologists advise to only use exfoliant 2 to 3x per week even if it is marketed to be used everyday) plus the cerave SA cleanser which also have the same acid.. Your skin might tolerate it now but it may lead to weak moisture barrier and sensitive skin in the long run...The Vanicream cleanser is great for all skin types because of its minimal ingredient list and its a basic but super effective cleanser..I hope these helps..😊😊🇵🇭🇵🇭

Hi, Melissa! I am a 14 yo teenager and my skin isnt that oily or dry, the only thing that gets oily is my nose. I only had acne on my forehead and the left side of my cheek but recently I got acne on the right side of my cheek which is making me really stressed. I tried the la roche posay hydrating cleanser and it gave me so so many bumps. It looked like closed comedones. What cleanser would you recommend me? I have no moisturizer nor sunscreen because I still cannot find a good cleanser 😭
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Год назад
Hello! Based on your description, it sounds like you have combination skin, which means that your skin can be oily in some areas and dry in others. For your skin type and concerns, I would recommend trying a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser that can help to remove excess oil and impurities from the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. Here are a few options: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser La Roche-Posay Effaclar Gel Cleanser It's also important to use sunscreen to protect your skin and keep it hydrated. You can try using a lightweight sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Some good options include COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream or NIOD Survival 30! Make sure to wear it whenever you have prolonged sun exposure.

how long do we need to use the cleanser to know whether is it suitable for our skin?
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 9 месяцев назад
It's best to know your skin type in the first place. For instance, this product is suitable for all skin types however most suitable for dry to normal skin. If you use it on oily skin, it may not remove the oils effectively enough, leading to clogged pores. Even if the product suits your needs, there could still be an adjustment period of several days or weeks, especially if you've never used such products before.

@MelissaVanDijkOfficial 9 месяцев назад
@@ZooChronicles296 Well, during the first few weeks, it can be normal to experience breakouts. However, rashes are quite unusual. If the rashes appear just after cleansing and aren't painful, it might be similar to what I've experienced with some cleansers. For me, it improved after a couple of weeks. But if it's severely irritating the skin and you're getting breakouts all over, then I wouldn't continue using it!

@MelissaVanDijkOfficial
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Год назад
What cleanser are you currently using for double cleansing? Also, do you use sunscreen during the day? If so, which one do you use? And are you certain that the cleanser is the issue, and not the overuse of Adapalene? Sometimes the moisturizer can also cause a burning sensation - which one are you using? Online doctors often recommend hydrating cleansers and thick moisturizers. I also use Adapalene, and for me, a gentle foaming cleanser like Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser and a moisturizing gel like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel work best. Sometimes, I don't use any moisturizer at all. If it gets too intense, I simply reduce the frequency of the Adapalene gel to every other day, and all is good. It still gives the same results... This might be something for you to consider.
