How to use Vectors in Krita Animation 

What creative ways have you used the #Krita animation features?

there is actualy a way around this: 1. create a frame in your drawing layer 2. create vector image above this 3. use shortcuts for the folowing: - copy layer, move layer down, convert to drawing layer, merge with layer underneeth (sorry, I don't know if i correctly translated the shortcuts to english) (you can even script this proces to only press 1 button for it) 4. create new frame 5. manipulate vector as wished 6. do shortcuts

You could use layers as an animation timeline.

Still googling vector animation in Krita 3 years later ^^; ...

that software really have potential! but i want to know if there is: motion tween and colour changing tween in krita (those are so important) nice vid by the way bro... i learned today!

If you click 'add duplicate frame' when you add a new frame then it will copy the previous frame and let you edit it without effecting any other frames

3:20 Wrong! You can change it afterwards! Switch to the shape selection tool (cursor icon), select the shape and change it in the tool options docker, see both the geometry and stroke tabs

Thanks, I thought I was missing something. version 4.4.2 still does not allow motion in vectors, bummer. Is there a way to draw something in vector, and then "convert" it into the paint layer (use it as a spray mask or something)?

I found a way to work around this by using your vector layer to create keyframes in your paint layer: 1. Duplicate your vector layer. 2. Convert your duplicate vector layer into a painter layer and keyframe it. 3. Use your vector layer to create your next frame then duplicate and keyframe it again repeating this as many times as it takes to complete your animation. You can merge your keyframe layers as you go to keep your layer docker uncluttered. However if you want to keep copies of each keyframe as vector layers you will need to create extra duplicate layers as you go and just hide them without converting them, but there's no real way around the resulting layer docker clutter - just be sure to use a good naming convention so you can keep track and may be group them so it's a bit easier to navigate your docker.
