The Windows 10 video editor doesn't include transitions or fading in and out for video. I use hitfilm express for most of my editing which is also free and does include these transitions. If you have a look back in my channel there is a tutorial video on this video editor.
I've been on the internet a long time and have watched 100's of tutorial videos and this is hands down the most concise, well thought out presentation I've ever seen. You're the kind of guy that if I were insanely wealthy I would pay you to go and learn everything you could about a certain subject so you could come back and teach me. Thanks!
I second every word of thresh0014. Great job. Please keep it up. I am gonna recommend you to lot of my friends who are always scared from the name of computer as we are at the age of 66.
Thank you. Most times instructors assume you know something and jump right into the middle of it, as if you are in grade 5. You assumed we were in kindergarten and described it well .So thank you. WELL DONE!
I watched two other YouT's on Video Editor before coming to yours. I should have been lucky enough to have watched yours first. I could have been done watching with just yours. Great Job.
I have spent days trying to find the right "editors" for a few ideas that I have for videos. Finally in one day, I found this video as well as your Hitfilm Express video....I now know what I am doing and please keep doing tutorials!!
DUDE!!!! This was a really GREAT tutorial to Windows Editor. Like literally, ANYONE will now know how to use Windows Editor. After watching your tutorial, I can no go ahead and editing and uploading my videos while I decide on which other editing software I'd like to utilize and learn. I've been hindered because I didn't know how to edit anything. GREAT JOB!!! KEEP UP THIS GOOD WORK. YOU ARE HELPING PEOPLE!
WOWOW!! I am so excited. I've used this program time and time again - but had NO idea it had all the options you went through. THANK YOU For the thorough tutorial. I can't wait to make my next one now. 👍
Hi I am so impressed with your leaning tuition, I have dyslexia, even thou I have to Watch this video a couple of times so I don’t miss anything, I find it so easy to follow, thank you my friend ,for your time and skills, to help others, well done. Neil 👍
Thank you so much for such a straightforward approach to tutorials! You get the job done, explain it precisely but don't drag it out. I've watched several on the video editor and now I'm ready to go! Thanks!!!!!
Thank you so much Ken for the video editor tutorial. It is the greatest Windows 10 Video Editor softwear Tutorial I've ever seen and learn. I will definitely learn throught it and commence editing my video.
Great tutorial, I got my computer a year ago and played around with it, but I’m still filming and editing on my iPhone, I will definitely try again after watching
So glad I found your very clear and easy to follow videos. I needed to merge and edit some videos for an event next weekend and started to get a bit stressed out as to just how I was going to do that. Watched your video and have been able to create both videos I needed without issues. Will be checking out more as I want to create more video content going forward! Thank you again! Keep up the great work!!
I appreciate your kind sharing about using video editor. It is good for the beginners like me. I hope I can do it after watching your show. Thank you very much.
Really enjoyed learning from your video tutorial. Very well explained indeed. Love the tone of your voice and the sppeed of the explanation...No rush no jumping from here to there. Thanks
Great video. I miss some of the features from the old editor like the ability to change the speed on all frames at once not just one at a time and transitions.
Yes... in my personal opinion this editor is unusable without transitions. MovieMaker was perfect for my (and most people's) needs. Now I'm using Filmforth, which isn't bad but doesn't show a frame by frame timeline and doesn't allow you to make precise cuts.
THANK YOU!!! TNice tutorials is such an amazing tutorial. I just got soft soft today and was playing around on it but had no clue how to really use it.
I just happened to run across your tutorial, and I'm so glad I stopped to watch. I had already started using this program but still had other questions about it. All of my questions were pretty much covered in this video. Thank you 😊.
Very good walk thru! Commenters asked some great Qs below. Here is another one... creating work videos to be uploaded to a work RU-vid channel. Using free video editor music will cause a copywrite claim and have video removed. You specifically cited using this for YT videos. How do we avoid this problem?
At one point in this video you said you don't have to save it because the software automatically saves it for you. The question is "WHERE does it save it?" (I'm not asking about the Export/Finish step) Thanks for a great tutorial!
If you have to stop/pause editing for any reason, you can exit, and then the program will ask you if you would like to save your file. That is when you can specify where you would like to save it. Of course, your edits will also be retained in the Video Editor itself.
Simply well explained! The finished product, what format does it save in, e.g. Mp4, Avi, etc? Say, you want to post a video into your own website, is that easy to do? Sorry, I am just a beginner here..😊
Great video. Thank you! Would you consider doing another video with specifics, like: 1. After "Finalizing a video, can I take it back into the storyboard later and do more edits on it? I've been finalizing videos, but am unsure if I can still edit after finalizing. If editing after finalizing is not possible, then what process should I take to save the file so it can be edited later ("Backup Project")? 2. How do I specify what title card, image, or video that I want to be the initial image that a potential viewer will see when searching You Tube? (For example, your image looks to be a pic of you on the right and large font text to the left of you.) How did you create this? And how did you assign this image as your cover image?
Thank you, I'm glad the video helped you out. You can continue to edit the video over and over again, but think of the export as the final project. If you make changes in the main project, you will need to export it again. As for the photo with writing on it, This is called the thumbnail. I make this in a different program and then upload it to RU-vid while I'm up loading the video. I use canva for my thumbnails. If you do a RU-vid search on how to make a thumbnail, I'm sure there are many videos. Hope this helps point you in the right direction.
@@NorthernVikingEveryday Thanks for your response NVE. So if I understand you, I can select "finish video" and export to save it, then, if desired, I can bring it back into the video editor program and edit it again and again? (Selecting "finish video" and "export" each time I make changes?) I will look at creating thumbnails and at Canva too. Thank you! Q: Will You Tube use the first image in the storyboard as its thumbnail, if I don't create a custom thumbnail? I ask, because the saved video file never shows the first title card, but the next image that is a still pic that lasts most of the video. Yet maybe when I upload onto You Tube it will show the 1st title card in my storyboard as the thumbnail?
I wouldn't use the saved file. I would just open up the project that you are working on in the software and re-export it again. Usually RU-vid gives you a couple different options for thumbnails from your video, but I'm not sure how they select those. I would just make a separate thumbnail and upload it.
@@NorthernVikingEveryday Thank you once again for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the guidance. I'll look into making thumbnails via Canva. Take Care!
Hi, great comprehensive tutorial for beginners! I have learned some new features here. However, I think you have missed touching on the Speed tool, which is fantastic to slow down or speed up video clips. I am keen to try out the Hitfilm Express app - is it safe to download it to use on Windows 10? Thanks
You're welcome. Yes it's surprising it doesn't have transitions. If you look in my channel I also have tutorials for Capcut which is also free for Windows and does have transitions.
Hey Thank you so much for the awesome video. Quick question, how can I change the duration of the video? Somehow it doesn’t let me to merge more videos when I pass 5 minutes! I appreciate it. Thanks
