In this video, I am documenting the process of installing a new MWR Race Air Filter, the TST velocity stacks, and I am also modifying the side covers of the air box to allow the bike to breathe better.
This video does not cover the AIS removal or the installation of smog block-off plates. However, I would strongly recommend that you perform these modifications first if you plan on following along in this video.
Installing the TST velocity stacks and an MWR race air filter on a Yamaha R3 can provide several benefits. Velocity stacks are designed to enhance the air intake process by increasing the airflow velocity and reducing turbulence, resulting in better engine performance. The MWR race air filter, on the other hand, is engineered to provide maximum airflow while still keeping the engine protected from contaminants.
By installing velocity stacks, the intake air velocity is increased, which improves the engine's volumetric efficiency. This, in turn, can increase the engine's horsepower and torque output. Additionally, the reduction in turbulence in the air intake can lead to a smoother, more responsive engine performance at higher RPMs. With the MWR race air filter, the engine will receive a greater volume of air, allowing it to breathe easier and operate more efficiently.
Opening up the air box by allowing more airflow can also provide significant advantages. The air box is designed to regulate air intake and protect the engine from debris and contaminants. However, this also creates a restriction in the airflow, which can limit engine performance. By allowing more air into the engine through a larger air box opening, the engine can receive more oxygen, leading to improved combustion and higher power output.
Additionally, opening up the air box can enhance the engine's throttle response and overall performance. This is because the engine will not have to work as hard to draw in air, reducing the amount of energy lost to the intake system. Allowing more air to enter the engine can also improve the engine's sound, as it can create a more aggressive intake noise, which is often desired by performance enthusiasts.
These modifications can increase the engine's power output, improve throttle response, and enhance the engine's overall performance, resulting in a more exciting and engaging riding experience.

Always love your informative videos! I remember we discussed the IRC quick shifter and blipper in the R3 owners group. I ended up ordering it, I will let you know how it goes when I get it in a few weeks.

Jason!!!! Thank you for the kind words my friend. I saw that you did your first track day of the season! I am so envious. Hope you had a blast. Let me know how you like the QS once you had a chance to test it out. Talk soon!

Very nice video, I really appreaciate the time you take for sharing, for sure you encourage me to do it on my bike. Hence, I would like you to share what about your feelings with this new mod, I mean, did you realy feel the extra power? On the other hand, I already have the K&N. Do you think the one you use will porvide better flow? Lastlly, can I use this mod with my ECU stock or should I flash it or PCV. What you think?

Removed all air box, Can the motor be removed from there? I would like to clean it since it doesn't turn when turned on.

you’ll need to disconnect all the electrical circuit, remove the exhaust, then you’ll have to remove the engine mount bolts… I’d strongly recommend to get the shop guide… Makes the process a bit easier 🙂

for removing my fuel tank should i wait until I'm low on gas or can i take it off with almost a full tank
@landry555
@landry555 Год назад
You don’t have to worry about the level of gas in your tank. A small amount will spill but that’s normal. A small check valve will prevent the gas from escaping the tank. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks for watching!
