What if i don't have liquid detergent, can i use powder? I just finished my first printed cross stitch but i never washed it because I'm afraid that what if it will fade? 110x64cm

thank you for this video, you're such a lifesaver! i lost the paper instructions for my printed fabric, and wasn't sure how to wash out the ink. but your method worked perfectly. i recommend to anyone whose pattern has a lot of pale thread, to DEFINITELY swap out the water at least 2-3 times, and on the last soak leave it for an hour or so. i was afraid my snowy owl was going to stay purple after the ink bled into the white thread and wouldn't leave even after 15-20 minutes. but an hour and a half of soaking in soapy water eventually got rid of those remaining hints of dye.

After the initial shock of you washing the fabric ! I am very relieved to see that your project is ok ! What a relief ! I had a old counted cross stitch bebinning project from long ago and the red floss bled into the aida and never came out ! Sometimes dark colors will do the same !

I definitely would have stitched the white areas with the brightest white floss I could find. It turned out beautiful! Can't wait to see the backstitching.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess all that ink from the factory make canvas looks dusty and dirty, and after wash it's just looks so much cleaner. Thank you my friend for such a nice compliments

To have 3 strands of floss lay down better, separate all three stands a put back together. It will help it lay down better.

That came out great so far. I agree with the others. The white part needs to be stitched. It would feel more complete. I felt so much anxiety watching you do this. When your thread looked green I gasped lol. Look forward to seeing how you back stitch🌺

I would use a large clear plastic rectangle storage box to wash canvas

I have embroidery that is over 100 years old from my family. The floss never looses its color even if I have to use bleach for a stain.

I love it can't wait to wash mine and hope it turns out half as good as yours. I agree on the 3 treads. I have had a hard time keeping them smooth as well. If is wasn't for you doing this as well I would of gave up on it. I will never do an 11 count again. My next one will be a 14 for sure. Seeing your canvas and then looking at mine I don't think I like the white part showing the holes. If you don't decide to do yours with a half stitch can you show us how to do it on a scrap piece please. I'm looking forward to seeing the back stitching and learn more from you. The back of your canvas is almost a pretty as the front. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I will empty the bowl put fresh warm water and soap a second time or 3 time then soak and rinse repeatedly

Instead of compressing sqeezing canavas between hands to get rid of extrawater. You can but it between two cotton towel to absorb excess water.

If I understand you right your design should be stitch on something, like T-shirt? It will be gone in the water and picture will stay.

The instruction for this particular cross stitch is to wash it to remove the markings. The stitches will not fall apart if you secure your threads properly while stitching.

Crayola washable markers come out really easily as well, and are fairly inexpensive.

Please where in sydney can i have a colour print on npaper transferred to an Ada grid ready for cross stiching after.when I go to printing companies with my ada grid and paper print they panic....oh no pool we print tg this tho our canvas...they say

The "Winter" pattern by this "Joy Sunday" is originally designed by Carl Valente and it's called "Winter Outing". It is sold as a kit by Sunset Counted Cross Stitch. So be aware of the kits sold in China.
