Hi there. I've just used leather fill to repair some deep cracks in my leather boots. I now want to treat them with dubbin to prevent further cracking. Do you know whether dubbin would affect the filler negatively? Thanks.

Hello! I'm assuming that this should only be done on cleaned leather? Could you please share if dubbin can be used on any color without staining?

If uncertain you could always try it on a small teat area first to be sure. The video does not show him applying the dubbin to the laces part of the boot. Should I smear it there too?

Dubbin is more like a wax/grease so it would last longer than mink oil and just be more waterproof and durable in general.
