How to Weather Props with Oil Paints!

First I just want to say thanks for this awesome video. I was really intimidated with this paint job and this made it super easy so thank you! How long should I expect these to take to dry? Should I plan on putting some type of top coat over the oil paint? It's been almost 48 hours and they still aren't completely dry. I can pick them up and handle them carefully, but the oil paint still rubs off easily.

This is a fantastic technique, man! What, in your experience, has been a good clearcoat to use over the piece once the oil/naptha has set?

Really enjoyed watching your technique, quick question though: I plan on weathering a piece of mine that I was planning to paint mainly with spray-paint and then seal with a clearcoat. Would the clearcoat protect the piece from this paint thinner? if so, is there a particular clearcoat i should aim to get for durability?

Do you clear coat the piece before this process?

I use spray paint for my props. Do I need to coat the paint either anything before I apply the oil/naptha?

I can’t find Naphtha in my area, can I use regular paint thinner, knowing it will take longer to dry?

Does the prop need to be clear coated first?

Dont oil paints take weeks to dry ? Anyway to accelerate that ?
